Tamra Judge's Ex Simon Barney Slams Her as 'Abusive' in Fiery Custody Battle Statement

Simon Barney is responding to allegations from his ex-wife, Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge, that he is an unfit father.

"I have always tried to keep quiet and take the high road," Barney says in a statement to PEOPLE. "Unfortunately the latest barrage of negative press has warranted some kind of statement. My statement is to set the record straight with facts, truths, not fabrications and accusations."

He continues, "Not only does my daughter have to read and hear about what her mother says about her father on the internet and various talk-shows, she is forced to relive it over and over from her 'friends and classmates.'"  

On Friday, Judge spoke out against her ex-husband in an interview with Radar Online, saying that he was turning their their daughter Sidney against her. She said Sidney's therapist testified the 16-year-old was suffering from "parental alienation," which occurs when a child rejects the parent he or she is not living with. Judge said Sidney's therapist referred to Barney as "the gatekeeper." 

"I've tried everything to get my daughter help," Judge said. "Simon fought so hard to get Sidney out of therapy and he went as far as to drag his daughter into a courtroom to testify how she doesn’t want any more therapy."

Sidney attended her parent's court hearing on Aug. 24 to let the judge know she didn't want to spend time with her mother, Radar reported. The court found Barney was "not involved in any alienating conduct in this case."

In July, Judge broke down on Watch What Happens Live after relinquishing full custody of Sidney to Barney when she was accused her of being a negligent mother in court documents.

"My oldest daughter has chosen to live with Simon because she is the one between the three kids – she got caught up in the middle of it," Judge told host Andy Cohen. "It's a bad case of parental alienation, and it's hard, and it's still a struggle, and I love her more than anything."

In his statement Thursday, Barney says he is protecting his daughter from Judge's behavior during the most recent season of Real Housewives of Orange County.

"The not so classy moments her mother is so famous for on the show which she is a main cast member, i.e., bathtub scene, talking about anal sex, talking about having sex with her husband, being topless, grabbing other women's body parts, trash talking, throwing wine, drunk, having her private parts in a man's face, having a male stripper's private parts in her face and being overall abusive," he says.

It's a shame that some people can't let things go and just do what's best for the kids.
