D'Andra Simmons Claims LeeAnne Locken's Fiancé Doesn't Want to Marry Her

People.com:
LeeAnne Locken and D’Andra Simmons have taken a break from their friendship, and it could have something to do with what Simmons said about Locken’s fiancĂ© Rich Emberlin.

On Wednesday’s Real Housewives of Dallas, Simmons had a frank conversation with Locken during a cast dinner in Beaver Creek — asking her longtime friend why she and Emberlin hadn’t yet made any wedding plans.

The couple have been together for more than nine years and have been engaged for more than a year.

Locken, 51, had her reasons for the delay in planning, which she tearfully admitted.

First, she explained that Emberlin’s loss of sight in his right eye had caused him to struggle emotionally.

“At the moment, why I haven’t pushed to move forward with a wedding date is that it’s been very difficult with him being blinded,” she said. “Here’s the thing, he’s not in a happy place. It affects him and we are together. So I’m just being patient.”

D'Andra Simmons: Size 6 is ‘Over the Limit’ in Dallas

PageSix.com:
"The Real Housewives of Dallas” star D’Andra Simmons says there’s “huge pressure” to be thin in Texas.

“I call it the little L.A.!” she recently told Page Six of Dallas.

“All the women have to be glamorous and thin and basically look like they’re stepping out of a photo shoot every time they leave their house,” she explained. “My mother has perfected the smokey eye at 8 a.m.! So she’s never been overweight a day in her life. She’s just this gorgeous, I mean statuesque woman and she always has been. And to keep up with all the beautiful women and what you’re supposed to be — you’re supposed to be glamorous. You’re supposed to be classy. You’re supposed to be thin. A size 2 would be preferable. I’m a size 6 so I’m a little bit over the limit!”

Simmons, 49, previously opened up about struggling with her weight on a podcast and came under fire for her claims that everyone she knew was skinny because they abused Adderall.

Her co-star Brandi Redmond took offense at her claims, but Simmons told us they have since made up and resolved their issues.

D'Andra Simmons Was In The ER Recently

Bravo.com:
D'Andra Simmons is on the mend after a little accident over the weekend.

The Real Housewives of Dallas entrepreneur went to the emergency room after cutting her finger with a mandoline slicer while cutting up some eggplant, she shared on Twitter on Saturday. The post included a photo of D'Andra in the hospital with blood on her right hand as she awaited getting some stitches on her sliced finger. D'Andra also shared in the post that there was "#bloodeverywhere" during the incident, which she also referred to as a "#stupidaccident."

D'Andra gave an update on her injury on Twitter Monday after she returned home from the hospital. "I received eight stitches and part of my nail bed was removed. I cut off the tip of my finger, and it is extremely painful," D'Andra shared in a tweet that also featured a photo of her with part of her hand wrapped up in a pink bandage. "Thanks for the [love]."

One of the people who sent their love to D'Andra was her fellow Dallas Housewife Stephanie Hollman. "Oh my gosh girl, that is crazy! I hope you're okay!" she tweeted. "Let me know if you need anything! Love you!"

D'Andra Simmons Regrets Wearing This Outfit on 'RHOD' "I’m Like What the Hell Was I Thinking?"

BravoTV.com:
We're only a few episodes into D'Andra Simmons' first season on The Real Housewives of Dallas and the newbie is already cringing at her time onscreen. Specifically, she wishes she hadn't worn a certain outfit on the show.

D'Andra recently revealed her biggest fashion regret of the season to PEOPLE: the outfit she wore when she had an emotional conversation with her stepson Keatin when he shared that he wanted to leave their home in Dallas to return to South Carolina (clip above). “I was wearing my sweater inside out from Anthropologie. I had a bandana on my head," she said. "I’m like what the hell was I thinking? I think it was my first week of filming. I learned after that.”

But D'Andra isn't one to dwell on the past too much. She's moving forward in helping her mother, Dee Simmons, run the family business, although it's unclear when D'Andra will be able to take the reigns herself. D'Andra recently moved the empire to "a newer, more contemporary building," '90s relics and all, according to PEOPLE.

D'Andra's closet is full of finds from the past and present, including an enviable collection of Oscar de la Renta pieces.

D’Andra Simmons’ Talks Diamonds, Designer Gowns and Twitter Feuds Between 'RHOD' Castmates

People.com:
Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Dallas may just be getting started, but new housewife D’Andra Simmons has already established herself as having one of the best wardrobes of any Real Housewife in history (OK, maybe tied with Lisa Vanderpump). From her closet full of high-end designer gowns to her blinding collection of jewelry, the Dallas native’s style follows the age old saying, “everything’s bigger in Texas.”

Turns out, her impeccable wardrobe is thanks to flawless taste and her background in fashion — before transitioning into a business woman with her own beauty empire, she worked at Saks Fifth Avenue under Rose Marie Bravo (who later ran Burberry). During our conversation with Bravo’s breakout star, we learned so many fascinating fashion tidbits like this, that we’re sharing all the secrets to her stellar style, below.

She had a personal connection to Oscar de la Renta.

In the episode where D’Andra cleaned out her closet, eagle-eye viewers may have noticed the shocking number of Oscar de la Renta pieces she owned. “Before my husband, I was engaged to Oscar de la Renta’s godson and so I have a ton of Oscar de la Renta in my closet,” she tells PeopleStyle. “I’m not getting rid of the things [created] before he passed away.”

Her closet is the size of a small home.

Since she owns so many designer pieces, her closet is massive. “Literally I can probably have a 10 person slumber party in there,” she says about the size of her closet. “What happened was when we moved into this house, which I built for myself as a single woman from the ground up, this person who designed my closet was a giant. She’s 6’2″ and I’m tiny so I’m always on a step stool and I can’t get to anything.”

D’Andra Simmons: “I’m The Kind Of Housewife That If I Don’t Like Something, I Am Going To Tell You”!

HuffPo.com:
If there was every anyone that was born to be one of “The Real Housewives of Dallas” it’s D’Andra Simmons. With an extensive charity background and a Dallas pedigree, Simmons is giving the ladies of Dallas something to talk about indeed! I got a chance to have a talk with D’Andra about her new role in life as a “Real Housewife”, what her mother Dee thinks about being the mom of a “Housewife” (hint-she loves it!) and what we may be able to expect from the newest gal to hit the newest Housewives franchise.
You have hit “The Real Housewives of Dallas” this year and after only a couple of episodes you are fast becoming a fan favorite. Many people, particularly in Dallas circles, thought you would be one of the first ladies in the cast last year. The reason I didn’t come on board initially is that they were working on it being patterned after a different show, and then it became a “Housewives” show. If you ask me, there should have been a “Housewives” in Dallas a long time ago, Dallas is the perfect place for a show like that! By the time I found out about the show, I wanted to see what it would be like, how the girls would interact, and just see how it went. I also had to think about what was going on in my life and I was also chairing a bunch of big events and I had been doing that since 2004 straight on. In regards to being respectful to the people that were counting on me, I had to be sure that the timing was going to be perfect in terms of doing something that I had not been doing before.
I think that you and Kameron both are a perfect fit for the cast. Did you watch last year or did you only get to catch glimpses of the ladies here and there? I did watch, because LeeAnne (Locken) is my friend and Carey (Deuber) and I have known each other for years. I did watch and I was curious as to what would happen after I decided I was not going to be a part of it. I am also a fan of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” because I think it is very similar, with Lisa Vanderpump for example, being very similar to other business woman. I also am a fan of “New York” and have watched those franchises, and I am also getting into “Orange County” now a little bit than I had been before.

Is being an official “Housewife” what you thought it would be and more? Well it is a little bit. I think one thing that is interesting to me is the power of a Housewife, I did not realize that. It shocks me how many people love the Housewives. The whole power of a “Bravolebrity” is not something I was familiar with. There are so many people who are excited. I was not really as involved with Twitter until the last four months maybe, and there are so many people that are excited, I mean they are just fanatics! You do have the people that hate on you for one reason or another too, Maybe you put your pants on wrong or don’t have the right nail polish, they are going to find a reason to not like you. That is the hard part for me, I’m a sensitive little girl sometimes, people just seem to find a reason not to like you. I’m just going to kind of not take it personally.
