Candiace Dillard joins The Real Housewives of Potomac this season with a touch of sass and savviness. The 31-year-old former Miss United States was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, with her Air Force physician parents and siblings, Chris and Crystal. At an early age, Candiace learned what excellence looked like from observing her parents, who worked in different facets of the medical field. A graduate of Howard University, she served a tenure in the White House Offices of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, where she liaised between the White House and the African American community for President Barack Obama. She later traded in her suit and heels for the campaign trail, where she served as a staffer for President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign. In 2013, Candiace won the crown and title of Miss United States and hasn’t looked back since. She has competed in the pageant industry for many years and holds top placements in the Sunburst, National American Miss, National Miss American Coed, Georgia Miss American Coed, Miss Maryland USA, Miss District of Columbia USA, and Miss United States pageant systems.RELATED: 5 Reasons to watch ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’
As an entrepreneur, she is the founder and CEO of Candiace Dillard Pageant Consulting, cofounder of Prima Hair Collection by Candiace Dillard, and co-owner of Chateau Salon Suites. In 2009, she also founded an organization called My Sister’s Keeper, a mentorship and women’s empowerment organization designed to give young girls the opportunity to interact with women in their communities. Candiace is currently engaged to her soulmate, restaurateur Chris Bassett, whom she met while they were both working at a restaurant in downtown Washington, D.C. They were friends for several years before the courtship blossomed into undeniable love, and Chris proposed to her with a surprise engagement that included all of her family and friends. When she is not running her numerous businesses or being a pageant girl, Candiace can be found curled up with a good book, as reading is her favorite pastime.

Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan and Monique Samuels are all back for the catch-up, and each lady brings her own gripes to the table.
The biggest conflict appears to involve Potomac Grand Dame of Potomac Huger and Jackson-Jordan, longtime friends who had a few falling-outs this season (who can forget their big Bahamas brawl?). This time, each Housewife throws shocking accusations about the others’ relationships.
“You’ve been dating three men and it don’t look good in the street of Potomac,” Huger tells Jackson-Jordan, who is separated from husband Eddie Jordan but not yet divorced.
“People say you have a boyfriend. Do I talk about that? Blue Eyes or whatever his name is?” Jackson-Jordan shoots back.
That doesn’t sit well with the happily married Huger, who has been with her husband Raymond for more than 20 years. “You’re a f—ing liar,” she says.

Gizelle Bryant Says It's Ok To Haze 'Potomac' Newcomers

To say that Gizelle Bryant hasn't gotten along with new Real Housewives of Potomac lady on the block, Monique Samuels, would be a bit of an understatement, to say the least. Their first meeting at high tea seemed more like an interrogation, their hookah night out was similarly shade-filled, and Gizelle struck out when she was caught whispering about Monique in her own home during game night, before getting asked to leave the RHOP newbie's home.RELATED: 'Real Housewives of Potomac' recap: Game night gone wrong
This isn't the first time that there's been some tension between Gizelle and a new member of the group. Gizelle memorably had a lot of prying questions for Ashley Darby about her husband, Michael Darby, when they first met last season. Sensing a possible pattern here, Karen Huger even went so far as to say that Gizelle enjoys hazing newbies.
Gizelle told The Daily Dish in April that she doesn't agree with what Karen said, but she added that "a little bit of hazing ain't bad." "However, Monique came to the group via Charrisse [Jackson Jordan], so she was already gonna get some shade. That's just on association," Gizelle explained. "Had she come from Robyn [Dixon], then I would have probably welcomed her with open arms immediately."
Remember that when Gizelle first met Monique at the high tea, she and Charrisse were still in the midst of their intense beef. Gizelle said that if she and Charrisse were on better terms at that time, "it would have been all good" between her and Monique from the start. "But, you know what? Monique was new. Ashley was new. And Ashley held her own quite well, and I love Ashley," Gizelle shared. "So we'll see what happens with Miss Monique."

Charrisse Jackson Jordan Speaks On How She Really Felt About Husband Eddie's RHOP Appearance

Sunday night's episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac was a big one. Not only did Charrisse Jackson Jordan's daughter Skylar celebrate her 16th birthday with a big and beautiful bash, but her husband, Eddie Jordan, made his first appearance on RHOP.RELATED: 'Real Housewives of Potomac' recap: Things are picking up ... maybe
We've been witness to the crumbling of Charrisse and Eddie's marriage since last season of RHOP. Charrisse dropped the bombshell at the Season 1 reunion that Eddie had not spoken to her since the show started airing. She also shared earlier this season that Eddie has decided that he wants a divorce.
Still, Charrisse said she fully expected Eddie to show up to Skylar's big day since it was such a special occasion for his family. "It wasn't surprising that Eddie was at his daughter's party. He's a very supportive father. He's a great father. He's always there for his children," Charrisse told The Daily Dish prior to the episode airing. "We're co-parenting, and we do the best we can as parents to give our kids the best life and make them as happy as humanly possible. So him being in the room was no surprise."
Charrisse told The Daily Dish that she hadn't seen Eddie "in a while" prior to Skylar's birthday party. Though they had talked before then, their conversations mostly concerned Skylar and her older brother, Jackson, 18. "We have children, so we have to communicate about things that pop up with the children. We don't have conversations where we call each other and say, 'Hi, how are you doing?' It's strictly about the children," Charrisse explained. "I'm 51, and I forget timeframes of things. I really don't know how long it was, but like I said, we're not in regular conversations with each other. So in terms of going from a place where we used to talk to each other on a regular basis, it had been a very long time."
Charrisse added that "it was good to see him though."

Monique Samuels Was Told To Get a Job on ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’

Shirley throws shade right in front of Monique by whispering to the man next to her, “She better think about who pay for the babies.” And then when Monique complains about how big the Samuels babies are (her two were 9lb.13oz, and 7lb.8oz), Shirley says “You ain’t got none as big as mine!” and claims she didn’t have any pain. Then Shirley suggests that Monique get a job. Monique says no, “I’m a wifey.” The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 9pm on Bravo.

Charrisse Jackson Jordan- “Last Season Made Me Deal With My Own Reality”

If there is ever someone that has “gotten their happy back” it’s “Real Housewives of Potomac” cast member Charrisse Jackson Jordan. While her marriage to husband Eddie Jordan may have imploded during last season, she is back with a new attitude and plans to let her cast mates know exactly where she stands. We sat down to chat about her new perspective, what it’s like going into the second season with a new castmate, and what makes this year truly different.
You are back for a second season on “The Real Housewives of Potomac” and it really seems like you have eased into your independence and are really loving it! What’s different for you this season?
Yes, I am definitely in a much better place than i was last season. I think I am in more of my comfort zone really. Last season, I had so much going on in my personal life and it was all new, so I was unsure of how to navigate it. It was almost like going through another death. Most people don’t know that prior to filming, I had three siblings that had passed away within two years and two of them had passed away within two months of each other. The first though was that being a part of the cast could be a fun thing to do, to put my mental space somewhere else. Then I had to deal with another death though, which was my marriage. I was really mentally fatigued when I was filming last season. The beauty of it is though, is that I believe everything happens for a reason. When I look back at the person I was last season, I see a person that was really sad. Sometimes you have to really see yourself to really get it. People were actually saying that to me, saying that I was not myself, they were hoping for happiness for me again, things like that. When I watched, I saw what they meant.
During your first season you had real and relatable issues going on. I think that helped you become one of the more beloved ladies on your cast during your first season.
Thank you! To me, to do something like this show, you have to be honest with your life and not try to become a character. I think often times people look at shows like this and think it’s fake, but for me, I find it more interesting to see your true self. I would rather people see the struggle that I am going through and how I am overcoming the struggle, versus me coming in and pretending like I am something that I am not. I could have easily gone through last season and acted like my marriage was great, knowing that it was not, and excused him by saying he worked in New Jersey. I was put in a position to have to deal with it, and it actually really made me deal with it; my own reality!

You know, she’s from Jersey! She’s from the Atlantic City area. I love her. She is a very genuine character, what you see is what you get and I like that. She’s not a pretentious person. She and her husband do very well, but she is a great person and very genuine. At the same time, a “newbie” coming into this situation, people will try to come for you, but she can actually stand on her own. She is officially my “little sister” now.
