Peggy Sulahian Is Leaving RHOC: 'It Was an Honor to Be the 100th Housewife'

People.com:
Peggy Sulahian is hanging up her Housewives hat.

After one season, the Real Housewives of Orange County star announced on Instagram Tuesday that she will not be returning to the Bravo series.

“What an exciting experience it was to be part of The Real Housewives of Orange County! It was an honor to be the 100th housewife and to be part of the Bravo family,” she began her post. “I am extremely proud of being the 1st Armenian-American Housewife and sharing my culture with the world.”

“While I faced and conquered many challenges, I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my story and spread awareness of breast cancer,” she wrote, referencing her cancer battle. “Dealing with the disease and the passing of my father challenged me to reassess and reflect on my life, and I’ve realized what’s most important is leading a healthy and happy life, surrounded by people who care and love you.”

“At this point, moving on seemed like the right thing to do,” she continued, and concluded: “A few new ventures have availed themselves, and I look forward to sharing them with you soon!”
No surprise here. As soon as we heard that Lydia McLaughlin was leaving RHOC the other day, you had to know that Peggy was right behind her.

Peggy Sulahian Criticized Meghan Edmonds' Parenting

Bustle.com:
The drama really amped up in Iceland during The Real Housewives of Orange County cast trip. It got so intense in the Nov. 6 episode that Peggy Sulahian left early. Peggy criticized Meghan Edmonds as a mother on RHOC, when she pointed out in front of the entire group that Meghan's baby Aspen was "crying for 10 minutes" alone. Clearly the pressure got to her, but Peggy didn't seem to realize how offensive she was being.

As a mother of three herself, Peggy should have some sensitivity talking to a new mother about her child, but that was not the case here. Tamra Judge came to Meghan's defense by saying, "she's doing a timing thing." She even screamed "She's training her baby!" in her "This is my opinion!" voice. Peggy did not seem to grasp why every other person in the group was defending Meghan, who was crying her eyes out.

After such an explosive episode, it made sense to check Meghan's Twitter account to see her public reaction to Peggy's mommy-shaming. Unfortunately she didn't tweet anything about that (yet), but she did "like" a tweet mentioning the Ferber Method. An article from Parenting Science breaks down the training concept. According to the site, the Ferber Method involves parents leaving their children alone for intervals that are timed. They are not supposed to go to their babies, even if they fuss and cry. Theoretically, the children learn to sooth themselves.

Peggy obviously wasn't aware of this, but actually seemed to believe that Meghan was neglecting her child to drink with her friends. But Meghan and her cousin/babysitter Bridget knew exactly what they were doing by letting Aspen cry it out. They were simply training Aspen to modify her behavior. As a mother, it's her choice how she wants to raise her child.

‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ Cast Beg Execs To Fire Peggy Sulahian After Fake Fights & Homophobia Scandal

RadarOnline.com:
Real Housewives of Orange County star Peggy Sulahian is getting comfortable in front of the camera, but all good things must come to an end!

RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that the 43-year-old is likely going to be booted after this season over allegations she’s homophobic and has created “fake fights” with co-stars to stay on the show.

“At this point everyone is just over Peggy’s bulls**t,” a Bravo employee said. “Her and Diko are just so hungry for fame it’s ridiculous.”

So why would Peggy – who has created a fan base since joining the cast this season – get kicked off the show already?

As Radar was the first to report, the rookie housewife and mother to Giovanna, 19, Gianelle, 17 and son Koko, 9 was blasted by her brother Pol’ Atteu – a well-known L.A. celebrity fashion designer and television star – as being homophobic. According to Atteu, who is engaged to longtime partner Patrik Simpson, “My sister is extremely homophobic and, yes, it is heartbreaking. The fans really have to hear the truth about her.”

Although Peggy denied the claim, several people, including Dr. Estella Sneider — an LGBTQ advocate who also happens to be RHOBH star Kyle Richards mother-in-law — all confirmed the report.

Peggy Sulahian Regrets Opening Up to the OC Housewives About Her Battle with Cancer

Bravo.com:
Peggy Sulahian didn't waste any time in opening up about her life as she gets to know The Real Housewives of Orange County this season. The RHOC newbie shared her struggle with breast cancer with the ladies, explaining that she had a double mastectomy in order to prevent a cancerous growth from spreading.

However, Peggy's recounting of her health journey has been met with some confusion among the RHOC crew as they try to understand her diagnosis and reasons for undergoing the preventative procedure. The talk, questions, and speculation about Peggy's illness made the RHOC rookie visibly upset this season.

Peggy clarified why there may have been some confusion about her health during a recent interview with The Daily Dish (clip above). "I've had a lot of health issues, and it struck me all of a sudden out of nowhere. It wasn't a cancer scare; it was cancer. And it happened so fast that we needed to take it out in a matter of three months. It was very aggressive, even though it was small, but it was very aggressive," Peggy shared, adding that the ladies' "interrogation is not supportive," though she admitted that she was "in denial" with her health issues at the time, especially since she had just dealt with the passing of her father. "So when they asked me, I was kind of dumbfounded that I had to think about my emotions at that time, my feeling how it was, and I just wanted to back up and say, 'I don't want to know that I did have it.' So that's how the miscommunication came across."

Now Peggy said she is "not happy" that she shared her cancer battle with the RHOC ladies. "They don't deserve it. I'm not happy I discussed it. My whole intent was to have support from them, especially the first [dinner] at the Quiet Woman. Sitting there with five women, I wanted to express it, and I wanted to talk to them about it, to get feedback, have the support. I didn't even get to talk about anything. I just sat there and watched the show with entertainment and food," she said. "It's pretty harsh, and if they say that it's coming out of, 'We're just asking,' it's like, stab me in the back and say sorry. Who are you? Yeah, it doesn't work with me."

Peggy is grateful to receive an outpouring of support from RHOC fans who have shared their own experiences with cancer. "The fans have been amazing with [sharing] their problems and 'Thank you, thank you, thank you for putting it out there.' It's amazing. 'Thank you.'

Peggy Sulahian Breaks Her Silence, Addresses Rumors & Answers Critics

HuffPo.com:
Peggy Sulahian seems to be the most reticent and reluctant “Real Housewife” to grace the small screen. Unlike the other ladies on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Orange County (or Real Housewives of any other cities), she’s not one to harp, rehash, instigate fights and bash her cast mates. While she’s been open about the breast cancer that runs in her family and having undergone a preventive double mastectomy, she hasn’t given us the kind of insight into her personal life that would put the kibosh on rumors circulating the blogosphere. Peggy also doesn’t seem to play along with the unspoken RH rules of getting into the drama between the ladies. It’s almost as if she is a viewer of the show with a front row seat, munching on popcorn while she observes the confounding rituals of reality TV subjects. As a regular viewer and Real Housewives super-fan (though I’ll cop to the fact that I’m not watching Real Housewives of Dallas yet), I had a lot of questions for Peggy about her portrayal on RHOC. I also greatly wanted her to address the accusations written online (https://www.inquisitr.com/4485053/is-peggy-sulahian-homophobic-real-housewives-of-orange-county-cast-members-weigh-in/).
In addition to setting the record straight with me, Peggy will be appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Monday, October 2nd. Says her Bravo representative: “She didn’t go on at the beginning of the season because she was recovering from surgery. That story (on Radar Online, claiming her refusal to be interviewed by Andy Cohen http://radaronline.com/celebrity-news/peggy-sulahian-rhoc-homophobic-gay-brother-andy-cohen-wwhl/) was completely false and had no truth to it.”
Following is my interview with Peggy:
You have been portrayed as kind of tongue-tied, unsure how to respond to the ladies and we wonder if you’ve watched the show when you tell Shannon and Tamra to stop harping and rehashing conflicts with Vicki. Why was there such a communication barrier with the ladies?
I understand a big part of the show tends to be the ladies “harping on one another,” but I believe we can do so much more than petty fighting and hashing old arguments. At this point in my life, dealing with death and disease, I believe we can let go of the past and deal with each other as adults. I appreciate that in last week’s episode, Vicki took the advice from others and called Tamra. They have been friends for years. Perhaps they can help others learn how to overcome difficulties in friendships and to grow from mistakes. Not sure I was tongue-tied, but at times I did feel a bit overwhelmed with so much action around. I was trying to soak it all in and at times thought twice before I spoke.
Can you address those rumors on the blogs? Are you homophobic? Can you tell me why you’re really estranged from your brother?
We have been estranged for more than 20 years. He was informed of our father’s passing and was present at the funeral. There were many people there to attest to this fact. Regarding the allegations of homophobia, perhaps actions speak louder than words. I am surrounded by people of every race, faith and lifestyle choice, so the answer is clearly NO.

Can you also set the record straight on turning down Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen? Did you ever previously turn it down? Will we see you on the reunion episodes at the end of the series?
No, scheduling did not permit it earlier (and Peggy’s publicist explains above). I am looking forward to going on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Monday, October 2nd. I love Andy and his personality and can’t wait to finally meet him! And of course I will be at the reunion, isn’t it all about the reunion anyway?!!
What was your main objective with coming on the show and what were your thoughts and hopes going in?
My hopes were to gain friends and support in this time in need. I underwent a massive surgery and started filming 5 weeks after my double mastectomy. At the same time, I was also dealing with my father’s deteriorating health and later, his passing. Prioritizing him was more important than my health. He did not even know about my situation. After his death, I was scheduled for a double mastectomy right after. You will see in the coming weeks but I was surprised by the ladies lack of support of what I was going through. Most of the ladies have not yet shown any concern, but yet have only interrogated me about my health.

Peggy Sulahian Responds To 'Troubled Marriage' Rumors

RadarOnline.com:
Peggy Sulahian just unleashed an explosive rant over her “troubled marriage” to husband Diko after RadarOnline.com exclusively uncovered a divorce bombshell between the RHOC couple. As Radar previously reported, Diko secretly filed for divorce from Peggy in 1996.

Despite Peggy’s constant claims of having the perfect marriage to her partner of over 20 years, Radar obtained court documents proving Dikran K. Sulahian filed a petition for dissolution of marriage against Peggy Atteukenian (the reality mom’s maiden name) on April 24 of that year.

Peggy took to her Bravo blog on Tuesday to dispute tales of a troubled marriage. “As you can see, I have an amazing relationship with my husband Diko,” Peggy insisted. She also pointed out a scene during Monday night’s episode in which she and Diko’s playful and loving nature was revealed as they giggled over the Armenian beauty’s misunderstanding of the popular American phrase “beating a dead horse.” “We have the best of times being silly, with love and laughter, even having fun with a topic of idioms such as ‘beating a dead horse,'” she wrote.

Peggy insinuated the phrase goes perfectly with the troubled marriage rumors she’s currently facing. “I googled it later, to find out it meant something pointless to discuss since it’s been discussed so many times already; he’s so right.”

As Radar readers know, the two were married on April 29, 1995 and separated less than one year later, on March 29, 1996. According to the Los Angeles Superior Court documents, the divorce was finalized on December 11, 1996, by Judge Robert A. Schinder. Neither party was present when the marriage was officially dissolved.

Peggy Sulahian Joins 'Real Housewives Of Orange County

Bustle.com:
Happy Monday! Bravo has released a trailer for The Real Housewives of Orange County, and this new season looks pretty epic, if you ask me. We see the return of the much-beloved OG of the series, Vicki Gunvalson, Bravo's longest-running Real Housewives star. But proving the new season really will be a historic one, Season 12 will also see the introduction of the 100th Real Housewife, Peggy Sulahian. But besides being the first housewife in the triple digits count, what else do we know about Peggy?

Well, for starters, she isn't terribly active on social media. Although she has an unverified Instagram account, up until a few days ago, she hadn't been posting very often. Plus, Peggy does not appear to have a Twitter account. There was a fake account with her name which had reportedly been throwing some shade at fellow RHOC star Shannon Beador, but the account is now suspended.

Peggy recently made the "difficult decision" to undergo a double mastectomy after doctors found a lump in one of her breasts. She's preparing for reconstructive surgery, and as Bravo notes, "she wastes no time inserting herself into the drama" in this new season of RHOC.

Indeed, check out Peggy feuding with Meghan King Edmonds and Kelly Dodd in the trailer. If she keeps giving us quotes like "It sure doesn't suck to me, now does it?" and "I'll make you look like a fool," then I'm sure she'll be a fan favorite.

Oh, and if you happen to have noticed that there are a ton of photos of cars in Peggy's unverified Instagram feed, there's a good reason for it. According to International Business Times, her husband Diko is a "custom wheel tycoon" — whatever that means.

'Real Housewives of Orange County' Trailer for Season 12 Is Here

Refinery29.com:
This summer, the Housewives are out in full force. That's because the 12th season of The Real Housewives Of Orange County returns to Bravo on July 10th. At this point, you might think you know exactly what to expect from the reality show — and you'd be right!
A sneak peek of the upcoming California-based season of the series has been released, and it's filled to the brim with insults, tears, and copious drinking that fuels the drama we can't stop watching.
The trailer begins with some of the choice insults from the season ahead overtop a tranquil beach scene.
"You're despicable. I will never, ever speak to you again," we hear.
Then, another voice interjects with "If you're gonna talk shit you gotta be able to take shit," and so on and so forth. Finally, the real clips begin, and all our favorite housewives are up to the same antics — until we meet Peggy Sulahian. Peggy is the new Housewife on the block, and is proud to live her life like a "princess."
"My lifestyle is extravagant," she says. "It sure doesn't suck to be me, now does it?"
But before we know it, we're face-to-face with the real drama this season: mommy shaming. But also fat shaming and poor shaming and rich shaming and friend shaming and literally all kinds of shaming that presumably builds until someone is taken into an ambulance in Iceland. How did we get there? Unclear.
