Lisa Wu Is Still Friends With Some of Her Former 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Co-Stars

Can you believe it's been nearly 10 years since Lisa Wu left Real Housewives of Atlanta? The 47-year-old mother of three — Justin Sweat, Jordan Sweat, Edgerton Hartwell, Jr. — disassociated from the series in 2009, citing that she parted "amicably" due to "creative differences" with the Real Housewives producers. But thanks to Bravo running a marathon of the first few seasons recently, Lisa Wu has entered fans' minds once again, and everyone is wondering what Lisa has been up to since she left the show.

Lisa's departure wasn't without its scandalous rumors (as Housewives departures nearly always are). Wet Paint reported that Lisa decided not to return in Season 3 because she wasn't happy with how much producers were attempting to "script" her storyline.

So what's up with Lisa these days? According to the former reality star's Instagram bio, a lot. She lists "a lil' bit of acting, producing, writing...and brokering to sell [you] a house in between," her account promises. She also lists a website on her Instagram — however, the link leads to a defunct page.

During Lisa's seasons of RHOA, fans saw the mom running multiple businesses — jewelry, a baby clothing line, and an adult clothing line — as well as a real estate company on the side. Now, each of those businesses has unfortunately dissolved, though Lisa still dabbles in real estate. At the time of the series, Lisa was also married to NFL player Ed Hartwell, but that marriage has since ended. The former couple split up back in 2011, and their divorce was finalized in 2012.

But don't think that Lisa's leaving RHOA has affected her relationships with the girls from the show. Lisa is still tight with bestie NeNe Leaks, Kandi Burruss, and Porsha Williams. In fact, Lisa was present for NeNe Leaks' 2013 nuptials, even making a brief re-appearance on Bravo for I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding. Other than those brief appearancs, Lisa has also been busy with other projects. In 2010, Lisa co-authored a book When the Cake Was Made. She's also made acting appearances in The Internship and Meet the Browns.

We’ve joked and waited and joked some more (and waited some more) for years. “Chateau Sheree” has finally made its grand debut! Well, sort of.

Sheree Whitfield held a somewhat-lavish housewarming for the dream home that has been under construction for the past five 105 years. Dressed in their best, guests arrived Friday night (Oct. 28) to get a first look into the long-awaited home.

Reportedly 50 or 60 guests attended the event, including Real Housewives of Atlanta cast members Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker, and Porsha Williams. Despite the shade she has thrown at Chateau Sheree, Kenya Moore was also present with Matt Jordan as her plus one.

 Former Atlanta “housewives” Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Lisa Wu were also spotted. Cynthia Bailey’s estranged husband Peter Thomas made an appearance.

Lisa Wu "Has Nothing To Do With" Ex-Husband Ed Hartwell & Keshia Knight Pulliam's Split

If you’ve been keeping up with the drama that is Keshia Knight Pulliam and Ed Hartwell’s split, you know that the name of his ex-wife, Lisa Wu, has entered the conversation. And while Pulliam has spoken out about Wu, clearing the air about whether or not she violated any friendship they may have had by being involved with Hartwell, we incorrectly brought Wu’s name into the conversation after confusing her for an ex Hartwell told Page Six TV he still cared for and consoled after she lost a baby. That woman also has a daughter. Hartwell claims he was instructed not to speak to both individuals after telling Pulliam about that situation.

But that woman isn’t Wu, and we wanted to ensure after the slip-up that you obtained the correct information: She didn’t lose a baby, doesn’t have a daughter, and wants no parts of her ex-husband’s drama. A rep for the Hollywood Divas star helped us get our facts straight. They stated that out of respect for their co-parenting relationship, Wu doesn’t have anything to say about the couple’s split.

“Lisa has remained silent throughout this whole ordeal because A) it has nothing to do with her B) she is still co-parenting her 9-year-old son EJ with Ed and doesn’t want to say anything negative about his father C) this is a PRIVATE matter that Ed & Keisha need to work through amicably and privately and not on national TV and blogs,” her rep stated. “Lisa was never pregnant a few months ago so she never had a miscarriage or ‘lost a baby.’ Lisa does not have a 13 year old daughter or a daughter period!”

Wu does have three sons: two with ex-husband Keith Sweat, and the aforementioned EJ with Hartwell. As Wu shared in an interview with HipHollywood, as long as their son was happy with his dad and Pulliam’s relationship, she was happy for her ex, saying, “my son is happy. He likes her. That’s all that matters. She’s great to my son, then I’m great to her. If she wasn’t, then there would be a problem.”

Sheree Whitfield Calls Police on Stalker Who Threatened to Kill Her

Sheree Whitfield’s got a serious problem to deal with, and for once it has nothing to do with her yet-to-be-completed home, Chateau Sheree.

Turns out the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member is being tormented by a man on Twitter who has been harassing her from several accounts. He even threatened her life and detailed how he planned to travel to her home and kill her.

Sheree explained the terrifying ordeal in a series of now-deleted tweets. In one message, the 46-year-old even included a screenshot of the death threat.

The language was vulgar and violent. Sheree tells a concerned follower she promptly took action and filed a police report after receiving that tweet. The mother of three also alerted Twitter to the issue, tagging the company in several tweets to let them know she was being threatened.

We’re guessing law enforcement officials urged Sheree to delete the tweets so as not to bring any more attention to this person.

The She By Sheree designer hasn’t sent out any more messages since last night, January 19, but we trust she’s taking all the necessary precautions to ensure her safety as well as her family’s.

He played for the United Football League 
The lesser known football organization, the United Football League (UFL), drafted Ed in 201o to play for the Las Vegas Locomotives. He won the UFL champion trophy in 2010 with the Locomotives, and likely would have gone on to more greatness. However, the league shut down in 2012, thus ending his football career.

Ed had several businesses with his ex-wife
Ed and Lisa were entrepreneurs who attempted to make five aspiring businesses happen while they were married: real estate firm Hartwell and Associates, a jewelry business called Wu Girls, t-shirt line Hart 2 Hart Clothing, a full women’s clothing line called Closet Freaks, and a baby line called Hart 2 Hart Baby. All that time that newlyweds Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker have spent apart since their wedding? It’s all going to be worth it. The mysterious television production that stole the Atlanta Househusband away to L.A. last month has just been revealed, and it’s a reality show starring some of our favs: Elise Neal, Countess Vaughn, and — get this — former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Lisa Wu!

That’s right, our dearly departed Lisa (who left after Season 2) is making her grand return to reality TV. Todd and Carlos King are co-producing the TV One series, titled Hollywood Divas, which is about black actresses living in L.A. and “attempting to stay relevant in the industry.” It’s a spin-off of the network’s already-popular show R&B Divas.

Lisa, of course, is one of those actresses in question, alongside a star-studded cast, including Elise (The Hughleys), Countess (The Parkers), Golden Brooks (Girlfriends), and Paula Jai Parker (Hustle and Flow). Is this not amazing?!

The series will premiere this fall, and as SVP Programming and Production D’Angela Proctor says, it will “share their experiences with inequality and obstacles when it comes to the Hollywood merry-go-round.”
Todd and Carlos also add: “We are excited to be a part of the TV One family on this groundbreaking series about the lives of Black Actresses in Hollywood. Our goal is to continue the success of capturing compelling stories about women from all walks of life.”

Kandi took to Instagram to congratulate both her man and her fellow RHoA alum.

NeNe Leakes Potentially Fatal Blood Clots Are Not Entirely Gone

We're happy to report that NeNe Leakes' health is steadily improving.

"I'm not 100 percent, but I'm trying to get there," The Real Housewives of Atlanta star tells me. "It's been tough, but I've been pretty strong. I'm coming back."

Leakes was hospitalized last month when doctors found she had blood clots in her lungs. "It takes about six weeks to really get back to feeling yourself, but I'm on blood thinners now," she said. "I would have to say I'm about 80 percent. I'm doing a lot better."

I caught up with Leakes at her Atlanta home while she was promoting the E! Entertainment Special: Nene Leakes, her in-depth interview with Giuliana Rancic airing tonight on E! at 10 p.m.

Leakes is getting ready for the holidays. She'll spend Christmas at home, but then she'll be in Las Vegas for New Year's with family and friends.

Lisa Wu Launches New Line of Lipstick

Lip Addyct announced today they have partnered with Real Housewives of Atlanta’s star Lisa Wu to launch a new line of lipsticks named “Chameleon.”

“When making the decision to enter the lipstick market, we decided to partner with an entrepreneur we admire and Lisa Wu fits the bill,” said Adrienne Owens, owner of Lip Addyct. “She’s fearless and works hard to push her brands. We knew she’d bring that same enthusiasm and work ethic to her line and we are pleased with the results.”

The cosmetics company, based in Memphis, TN, produces a line of lip care products that includes lip glosses, lip lacquers, lipsticks and lip balms.

“Our glosses have been and continue to be extremely successful. We offer every type of lip gloss one can imagine and they’ve been highly embraced nationwide,” adds Owens.

Danielle Staub
One-woman drama machine Staub won VH1's Famous Food (I know, I didn't see it either) in 2011--but her restaurant, The Lemon Basket, has since closed. There have been rumors of her returning to RHONJ, but no official word.

Why Did Lisa Wu Leave the Real Housewives of Atlanta?

We know it’s hard to believe that anyone would ever not want to spend the majority of their lives being chased by cameras and talking about Kim Zolciak’s wigs, but apparently, there’s someone who’s had their fill. Lisa Wu, original Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member and wife of NFL player Ed Hartwell, did not return for Season 3 last Fall. The gossip mill always lights up whenever a housewife departs the franchise, and Lisa’s case has been no different.


Rumors first started when Lisa was a no-show for a production shoot for the show’s opening montage. It was later discovered that she wasn’t on much of the production roster, nor was she slated to participate in any promotional work. Officially, Lisa is said to have parted “amicably" due to “creative differences” with the producers of the show. Rumors are that Lisa was upset over attempts to “script” much of her story line in the show, and she ultimately decided that if her real life drama wasn’t enough, then it was time to leave.


Lisa is working on establishing herself as a legitimate actress, and has been successful landing work. She’s been vetted for parts on Tyler Brown’s Meet the Browns, and reportedly has a small role in an upcoming feature with Robert Downey, Jr. It’s not unlikely that she wants to distance herself from the near circus-like exploits of Bravo's remaining Southern Belles.


Or, maybe it’s the fallout from constant scrutiny over her finances. In 2007, before the first season of the show premiered, Lisa filed for bankruptcy, which was not the best way to start showing off how glamorous her life was. Ed’s NFL career slowly began to wane, culiminating in 2009, when he was released by the Oakland Raiders. (Ed is now signed to the Las Vegas Locomotives, a UFL football team). By 2009, all of the Web sites promoting Lisa and her businesses (real estate, jewelry, etc.) had been shut down.


In 2009, the Hartwells lost their lavish mansion (yes, the one that had that bowling alley) to foreclosure, forcing them to move to smaller digs 40 miles outside of Atlanta. The distance alone was said to have put pressures on the show's production schedule. And let’s face it: it’s hard to be on a show glamorizing lavish lifestyles in Atlanta, when one of the stars lives in a remote suburban outpost, quite possibly clipping coupons to Denny’s and ducking calls from credit collectors. We wouldn’t know what it’s like to face the stigma of not being able to support a glamorous lifestyle, because our glamorous lifestyle consists of living off ramen noodles and stealing napkins and silverware from Taco Bell, so we’ll assume it’s no picnic.


Bravo wasted no time replacing Lisa with new stars Cynthia Bailey and Phaedra Parks for Season 3. Lisa herself has remained relatively silent about the split with Bravo, although all indications are that she will make cameos from time to time. And who knows, maybe Lisa will reunite with her cast mates in the future... perhaps an all-cast musical stage version of “Don’t Be Tardy for the Party?”

Former Real Housewife of Atlanta, Lisa Wu, recently finalized her divorce from now ex-husband, Ed Hartwell, as seen in court documents obtained by Straight From the A.


While rumours of the couple’s split had been swirling around for quite some time, the once inseparable duo were officially over on August 24, 2011, when Ed filed for divorce.


According to court documents, the couple’s divorce was finalized on October 7 of this year. Lisa and Ed were married on December 31, 2005, and their son, Ed Jr., was born in 2007.

Real Housewives of Atlanta recurring guest Lisa Wu, who appeared on season one and two as a cast member, and husband, former NFL linebacker Ed Hartwell, have split. Western New York fans of Real Housewives of Atlanta can catch reruns of the hit show on Bravo (DirecTv channel 237 in Buffalo).


Seems a fan of NeNe Leakes' Facebook page was tipped off when she saw that NeNe and Ed Hartwell were Facebook friends. The fan clicked on his page and it said he was separated. The fan wrote in to the blog 'Straight from the A' looking for confirmation. The blogger tweeted Lisa Wu, (@1LisaWu) who responded:


"Sadly. We r seperated but wld NEVER b over money. That is so far from the truth. Wish ppl cld respect ppl's privacy during time like these."


The blogger goes on to say that Lisa wasn't wearing her wedding band at the opening of The Green Room on August 18, 2011. Wu and Hartwell have a four year old son, Ed Hartwell, Jr.

Catching Up With Lisa Wu Hartwell

Some folks with short memories may already be saying “Lisa Who?”


But Lisa Wu Hartwell, who quit “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” after season two, is moving on, pursuing a genuine acting career.


Reality TV got her name out there, but she felt she had to walk away from the shenanigans season three so directors and producers of scripted programs would take her more seriously.


Hartwell just finished a month-long shoot in Philadelphia on a murder/mystery film with actor/writer/director Charles Dutton called “Must Be the Music.”


She is starring in an upcoming play at Ferst Center on the Georgia Tech campus called “Stripped.” It debuts July 27 and runs through July 31. She plays the wife of a former NFL player struggling with life after the big time. She also happens to be married to Ed Hartwell, an ex-NFLer himself who makes a cameo appearance via video.


Hartwell works opposite Dorsey Levens, another former NFL player who played professionally from 1994 to 2006. Levens, a Georgia Tech graduate, produced the play.


During rehearsals last Saturday at Whole World Theatre, Hartwell showed off her “angry side,” a resentful wife of the fictional Jayden Dorsey. They argue a lot.


Hartwell always seemed to have her head on her shoulders on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” save for a moment where she threatened to flip Kim Zolciak over a couch for allegedly spreading lies about her and her children during a season one reunion show. (Hartwell was once married to R&B Keith Sweat, who never showed up on camera on the show.)
