Jules Wainstein’s Divorce Reveals She and Husband Failed to File Taxes for Years

NYDailyNews.com:
The lifestyle of a "Real Housewives of New York" star wasn't in fact so real — she and her now estranged husband failed to file taxes for years and mysteriously invested money in a Hamptons home they didn't even own, it emerged Tuesday.

The contentious divorce between Jules and Michael Wainstein escalated in Manhattan Supreme Court with the revelation that the couple failed to file taxes between 2008 and 2015.

A portion of the returns, which Michael recently filed with the IRS, were introduced as part of his argument that Justice Michael Katz had ordered him to pay his estranged wife too much money for child support and an apartment.

"My client has not been making the type of money they've sort of projected publicly," Michael's attorney Morghan Richardson said. "The amount he's paid the defendant in just the last few months eclipses his annual income."

Those recent payments include $25,000 from the sale of a Mercedes, as well as $12,000 for child support, per a judge's order.

Despite the hefty sums, the electricity was cut at Jules Wainstein's home because she'd burned through the money without paying Con Edison, Richardson said.

Jules' attorney, Allan Mayefsky, countered that Michael was responsible for paying the bill and insisted he frequently changed his story about income.

Jules Wainstein’s Estranged Husband Ordered to Sell UWS Penthouse

PageSix.com:
Former “Real Housewives of New York” star Jules Wainstein’s estranged husband, Michael Wainstein, must look for a new home, because a Manhattan divorce judge ordered him to sell his penthouse apartment in a famed Upper West Side building.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Katz said Tusday that although Michael is living in the condo, it is in Jules’ name, so her reputation will suffer if they are evicted for nonpayment of fees.

Jules Wainstein Attacks Husband Michael In Divorce Court

RadarOnline.com:
Jules Wainstein’s husband is so broke that he can’t pay their children’s tuition OR the family’s Uber bills! In a shocking court hearing, the former Real Housewives of New York City stars faced off in their divorce, with Jules’ attorney slamming her estranged husband for trying to blame his client for the family’s financial problems, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.

Radar was in the New York City courtroom when the pair fought in front of a judge over their dire money problems.

Mr. Wainstein hasn’t paid $10,000 on September 30 of 2016 or $10,000 on Oct 28, 2016 for tuition for the children, utilities, Uber, transportation, nanny and weekly groceries,” Jules’ lawyer revealed. “No payments. He has not paid tuition. The Uber account shuts off and on. There is constant terminations of service for Time Warner Cable. Council stated in September on the record, that Uber would be paid.”

As Radar exclusively reported, the Bravo stars split after the police were called to their house multiple times for domestic violence accusations lobbied by Jules against her husband. The police did not arrest him and he was never charged with a crime.

However, their finances took a huge hit in recent years, and her lawyer told the judge that Michael was not fulfilling his promises to take care of the children.

“We have tax returns that still haven’t been filed,” he said. “Look at his drafts once again. This year will be worse than 2015-2016, but it never says what 2015-2016 is. He said he’s applied for financial aid for the children, but no application. I doubt it’s been filed because I haven’t seen it. He tried to put it on my client that she’s holding things up. It was supposed to be done months and months ago.”

Jules’ attorney told the judge that they were concerned about his money situation.

Jules Wainstein's Child Custody Battle Gets Ugly with Talk of Drug Abuse

NYDailyNews.com:
“Real Housewives of New York” star Jules Wainstein and estranged hubby Michael Wainstein are fighting over custody of their two kids — with the husband claiming she has a history of drug abuse.

The Wainsteins appeared Wednesday in Manhattan matrimonial court, their second appearance in the former couple’s divorce proceedings. They currently share custody of their kids.

Michael Wainstein’s lawyer, Morghan Richardson, said he wants custody of the kids, claiming she “has a history of drug use and abuse.”

“Look no further than to watch TV to see the bag of drugs that she carries around,” Richardson said, alluding to a summer episode of “Real Housewives of New York” in which she talks about carrying lidocaine and Percocet with her.

Richardson also said Jules Wainstein had a “stint at a rehab center” for drug abuse and an eating disorder.

Justice Michael Katz demanded evidence of the alleged drug abuse, such as an affidavit from their nanny, saying “I don't try cases based on what may or may not be on the television.”

Asked about allegations of drug abuse and her husband’s push for custody, Jules Wainstein said after the hearing, “I'm not allowed to talk, I'm sorry.”

Jules Wainstein's Estranged Husband Michael Accused of Scamming Film Composer in Condo Lawsuit

TMZ.com:
Jules Wainstein's ex tried to pull a fast one by renting out an NYC apartment he had no business hawking because SHE owns it ... according to a new lawsuit, but he denies any wrongdoing.

Michael Wainstein is being sued by Jonathan Sheffer -- a famous conductor -- who says he needed to lease a place for his nanny, and Michael offered the pad ... at a premium. In the suit, Sheffer says Michael demanded more than $20k for rent, security deposit and broker fees.

Sheffer agreed and signed the lease, but according to the docs ... he had maintenance issues with the place, which led to his big discovery -- Michael wasn't the owner.

Sheffer thinks Michael was taking the cash for personal use. He's suing for a complete refund, plus damages.

Wainstein's attorney tells us Sheffer's the one in the wrong, and claims he breached the terms of the lease and is simply looking for "a creative way to cancel his obligations." He adds ... Michael denies all the allegations, and plans to file his own lawsuit against Sheffer.

Jules Wainstein Confirms She's Not Coming Back To 'Real Housewives of New York City'

BravoTV.com:
Things are changing in the Big Apple. Days after The Real Housewives of New York City Season 8 reunion, Jules Wainstein confirms to The Daily Dish that she will not return after one season on the show. "Overall, it was a great experience. I learned so much about myself. I learned so much about the ladies. They're all successful in different ways. I learned different things from each and every one of them," she said. "The best part of it, especially now, [with] what's going on now, the show really made me feel capable — like I felt like if I didn't have the show and this was going on I'd kind of feel lost. I feel very strong and like I got a little chutzpah. I feel empowered; it's a show about women. Listen, I'm going through the worst time in my life, but on the other hand, life isn't over and even though I'm 35, it could be the beginning."

While you never know if Dorinda Medley's BFF might pop up again in the future, she's now focused on her business, Modern Alkeme, as well as her family. "Now with everything going on in my personal life, I want to focus on my family, my children, and make sure they are happy and healthy. My children are young and with everything going on, the last thing I want is my divorce to be public and I have to protect them," she said, adding, "I'm not disappearing. You're gonna see me around [promoting Modern Alkeme]."

The mother of two joined RHONY for Season 8. During her tenure on the show, she was candid about her past struggles with an eating disorder, even in the face of criticism from some of the other women. Back in June, she announced her divorce from her husband of eight years, Michael Wainstein. "We respect Jules' privacy in dealing with this personal matter and know she’ll get through this difficult time with the support of her friends and loved ones," a rep from Bravo said.

Jules Wainstein Gets Huge Settlement in Divorce Court

NYDailyNews.com:
“Real Housewives of New York” star Jules Wainstein didn't get it all — but she got a lot — from her estranged husband Thursday in their first foray into a Manhattan matrimonial court.

Michael Wainstein agreed to pay the housing expenses for the wafer thin celebrity, the school and nanny expenses for their two young children and a $200 weekly food bill. However, he objected to his wife's demand for an additional $25,000 a month in spousal and child support.

Michael Wainstein's lawyer, Morghan Leia Richardson, said her client's businesses have "suffered tremendously from the publicity" surrounding his high profile divorce, and he’s struggling financially as a result. He owes a lot on his credit cards — some are in default — and an apartment that the couple rented out for income is currently vacant, she said.

Jules Wainstein's lawyer Allan Mayefsky scoffed at that explanation, noting that the couple had enjoyed one lifestyle and "then suddenly the bills are not paid?!"

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Katz ordered Wainstein, 44, to give his wife $10,000 a month in spousal and child support and said he would revisit that figure after seeing the husband's statement of net worth and other financial documents showing his assets and liabilities.

Meanwhile, Katz said, the hubby can occupy one floor of the couple's triplex on E. 19 St. while his wife and children stay on the top two floors.

"Both parties will remain in their respective spaces and with no infringement. Both of you need to keep a respectful distance, especially for the children's sake. It would not serve them well if there is visible tension between you," the judge told the couple.

Jules Wainstein Not Returning to 'Real Housewives of New York City'?

EOnline.com:
Jules Wainstein is leaving The Real Housewives of New York City after just one season, E! News has learned exclusively.

The 35-year-old pal of Dorinda Medley joined RHONY's eighth season as the newest addition to the cast (and foil for returning Housewife legend Bethenny Frankel). But multiple sources confirm to E!
News that Wainstein will not be returning as a Housewife for the franchise's ninth season (though, like other exiting Housewives before her, she could appear on the show as a friend).

Her rep tells E! News, "Jules is going good through a divorce and is putting her family first."
Bravo had no comment on the cast shakeup.

Aside from being part of one of the most memorable (and possibly best ever) seasons in Real Housewives history, Wainstein has made headlines over the summer for personal drama surrounding her divorce from estranged husband Michael Wainstein.

Things have gotten publicly contentious between former couple, who announced in June that they were divorcing after eight years of marriage, with Jules even calling the police in June after feeling threatened by her ex and later receiving a temporary restraining order following a disturbance in August.

The duo share kids Rio and Jagger.

"She is a great mom who is just focused on her kids right now," a source told E! News after Jules' restraining order was granted, and she's "trying take the high road" amid the high-profile drama.

Jules Wainstein Receives Temporary Restraining Order Against Estranged Husband Michael Wainstein

EOnline.com:
Real Housewives of New York City star Jules Wainstein appeared in family court Wednesday to receive a temporary restraining order against estranged husband Michael Wainstein after police arrived at their home in the morning, E! News has learned.

"Officers received a call at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday morning of a disturbance," the NYPD confirms. "When officers showed up they spoke to both parties and advised for each, if they felt threatened by the other, to file a restraining order." No arrests were made.

Law enforcement wouldn't release the exact details of the call or report; it was reported as a disturbance.

After appearing in court Wednesday, a source tells E! News Jules "was granted a temporary restraining order" against Michael. "She is a great mom who is just focused on her kids right now.

"With the ongoing drama starting to take its toll, the source says Jules is "trying take the high road."
The former couple announced in June that they would be getting divorced after eight years of marriage. Since the news broke, Jules and Michael's divorce has become contentious, and Jules even called the police on Michael in June after feeling threatened by her ex. "Jules was the one who called the police," a source told E! News at the time, adding that Jules needed help because Michael was speaking to her in a threatening manner. No arrests were made.

Jules Wainstein Breaks Silence About Painful Divorce

People.com:
Jules Wainstein has spoken out about her divorce.

Almost two months after a rep for the Real Housewives of New York City star told PEOPLE Jules was splitting from her husband "over his infidelity," the star publicly addressed the news.

Appearing on Wednesday's episode of Watch What Happens Live, Jules, 35, confirmed that she and her ex Michael Wainstein are in the process of getting a divorce.

When host Andy Cohen, 48, asked about reports that the exes are still living together, Jules nodded: "I can say that's true."

Jules and Michael, an investment banker, have been married for eight years and share two children together: son Jagger, 8, and daughter Rio, 5.

When Cohen asked whether Jules knew Michael's alleged mistress, the star faltered – but her RHONY costar Dorinda Medley stepped in.

"I can say that's true," Medley said.

As for whether she ever suspected Michael would cheat, Jules said "never" before trailing off.

"I don't know," she added.

Medley, meanwhile, maintained Jules had never brought any suspicions up to her, despite the two women being very good friends.

Carole Radziwill Goes After Dorinda Medley For Being A 'Sh-t-Stirrer'

Inquisitr.com:
Carole Radziwill is one unhappy camper. She decided to remain on the Real Housewives of New York despite her partner in crime, Heather Thomson, not returning. Now Radziwill has teamed up with Bethenny Frankel and pretty much shut out the rest of the cast. In the beginning, it seemed that she would be bonding with the newbie, Jules Wainstein, but that is no longer the case. With everything going on and the ladies being able to watch the episodes play back, Radziwill has a lot to say about her co-stars.

This season in particular has made Carole Radziwill appear less fun and more uppity than usual. She is currently upset about Dorinda Medley and the comments she has made during her mini interviews on the Real Housewives of New York. In fact, Radziwill was so mad about what was said, she took to Twitter to call Medley out. According to All About the Tea, Carole Radziwill thinks she has been treated poorly, even more so than any of the other ladies on the show. While that may be taking it a little too far, she has been called some very harsh and vulgar things by the women she believed were her friends. Now that Radziwill is on Bethenny Frankel’s best friend list, the two have started to become the mean girls of the group.
It is true that Dorinda Medley has said some questionable things about Carole Radziwill and played both sides of the fence since the drama began this season on the Real Housewives of New York. She seems to be deflecting the hatred for her boyfriend and playing on the bad blood between Radziwill and LuAnn de Lesseps. It all got kicked off when Medley was celebrating her birthday in the Berkshires. Bethenny Frankel had words with de Lesseps and it caused a world of drama between the ladies. A few weeks later, Radziwill and Frankel found themselves being judgmental about Jules Wainstein during a pizza-making event. Since then, it has been a downward spiral.

Recent reports have indicated that Bravo is bored with Carole Radziwill and wants her gone next season. Bethenny Frankel reportedly told Andy Cohen and the people at the network that she will not return unless Radziwill is back. The two have bonded quite nicely this season, much to the dismay of the others. She has never been one to call people out or get upset easily, but Radziwill has had enough. She no longer wishes to interact with most of the cast, even admitting that she is annoyed with Jules Wainstein. Lucky for Radziwill, Jules will not be returning to the Real Housewives of New York for another season.

Jules Wainstein Gets Served Divorce Papers

EOnline.com:
The wheels are officially in motion.

E! News has confirmed that The Real Housewives of New York's Jules Wainstein was finally served with divorce papers from her husband Michael Wainstein a few months after learning that the pair decided to call it quits.

The New York court filing shows that Jules has enlisted Bethenny Frankel's divorce lawyers, Aronson Mayefsky and Sloan, for her case, which is also listed as a "contested" divorce. This means that there are certain terms that the two parties cannot agree to, either about getting divorced or about issues pertaining to the separation, such as the division of assets, allocation of debts, alimony, child support, or the custody of children.

Specifics as to what these two stars cannot agree on have yet to be disclosed.

The divorce papers come roughly one month after police were called to the Wainstein home.

E! News learned at the time that the Real Housewives of New York star called the police on her estranged husband after feeling threatened by her ex. "Jules was the one who called the police," a source told us, adding that Jules needed help because Michael was speaking to her in a threatening manner. No arrests were made.

The call to police came shortly after the reality star announced that their marriage has come to an end after eight years together. The insider added, "This divorce is contentious and it's going to be ongoing."

Jules Wainstein Takes On ‘Bully’ Bethenny Frankel, Admits She Still Struggles With Her Eating Disorder

Inquisitr.com:
Jules Wainstein finally stood up to Bethenny Frankel.

Wainstein felt unjustly bullied by Frankel and Carole Radziwill in regards to her intelligence and eating disorder. However, Wainstein turned the tables on her co-stars during Dorinda Medley’s dinner on the latest episode of the Real Housewives of New York.

According to Radar Online, the drama escalated after Dorinda Medley told LuAnn de Lesseps about rumors Ramona Singer had started. De Lesseps subsequently stormed out of the restaurant.

Wainstein tried to defend de Lesseps’ actions, which didn’t sit well with Radziwill and Frankel.

While Wainstein spoke against gossiping behind people’s backs, Frankel brought up the calzone incident from a few installments back.

As fans will recall, Wainstein accidentally baked a few utensils inside the calzone, which Frankel thought was extra stupid.

“I’m not stupid, okay?” Wainstein told Frankel. “I’m really sick and tired of you portraying me as stupid. It’s not nice.”

Wainstein didn’t stop there.

According to People, she went on an epic tirade about how Frankel’s sense of humor hurts those around her.

“Your sense of humor is at other people’s expense,” she stated. “My sense of humor’s at my expense because I don’t want to hurt people’s feelings. You make fun of other people because you don’t care about other people’s feelings. Because you hurt people’s feelings.”

Of course, Frankel immediately defended her sense of humor. She also accused Jules Wainstein of calling people old and talking behind their backs.

Jules Wainstein May Be Getting Dumped From ‘Real Housewives of New York City’

USWeekly.com:
Jules Wainstein may have just been dumped … again.

A source reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly that the Real Housewives of New York City season 8 rookie, 35, won’t appear in season 9. “Bravo isn't asking Jules back," the insider says.

The news comes a week after reports revealed June 15 that Jules’ husband of eight years, Michael, 44, filed for divorce. Since then, the two have been hurling nasty accusations at each other.

Jules' rep accused venture capitalist Michael of infidelity, claiming he cheated with one of the reality personality's friends. Then, Michael's attorney claimed Jules physically attacked her husband in 2012.

Though the vicious back-and-forth might seem like perfect fodder for reality TV, the source claims it wasn't enough to keep Jules around for another season. Despite opening up about her eating disorder and chaotic home life, says the pal, "she isn't resonating with viewers."

And with costar Ramona Singer's season 7 split from her husband of 22 years, Mario Singer, still a leading story line, the insider explains, "producers don't want another divorced woman."
I've watched every episode of 'RHONY' this year and Wainstein hasn't resonated much with me either. Wonder if Wainstein's possible exit could open the door for JIll Zarin coming back?

Jules Wainstein Allegedly ‘Brutalized’ Her Husband Michael

PageSix.com:
Cops reportedly “swarmed” the Manhattan home of “Real Housewife” Julianne Wainstein recently — but an attorney for her husband Michael Wainstein says that he’s the victim.

On Thursday, the Daily Mail reported an NYPD “officer was seen leaving [the couple’s] apartment carrying a written statement, with the words ‘threatening me . . . going to ruin my life’ easily legible.”

But Michael’s attorney Mark Jay Heller said it’s Michael who’s been a past victim of his statuesque and beautiful wife, Julianne. “She has brutalized him, poor guy — a foot shorter than her — and he is not going to take it anymore.” He complimented Michael — who stands well below his wife in pictures of the pair — as “diminutive but brave.”

A rep for Julianne commented when asked about any alleged abuse, “The truth will prevail.”

Meanwhile, Heller said of the Thursday incident, “At about 8 a.m. . . . his wife called the police to come to the home and she told the officers that he was talking too loud. They looked at her and said, ‘That’s no reason to call the police.’”

He previously claimed, “She regularly calls the police with false allegations, and the police arrive and find there was no incident . . . That’s a tactic that some women use.”

Julianne’s rep has called Heller’s remarks about the “false allegations” “utterly disgusting.”

An NYPD rep said there was no record of a 911 call at the address Thursday morning.

Reports have said Michael filed for divorce in May after he was “busted” for cheating. Julianne’s rep confirmed the adultery accusation and said that Julianne was “blindsided,” but “she’s very strong.”

Jules Wainstein Set to Divorce Husband Michael over Alleged Cheating

People.com:
Jules Wainstein's marriage is coming to an end.

The Real Housewives of New York City star is divorcing her husband Michael Wainstein, a rep for Jules confirms to PEOPLE.

The cause for the split was cheating and Jules was blindsided, the rep added.

"Jules and her husband have split over his infidelity," the rep tells PEOPLE. "In last night's episode there were signs."

Added the rep: "Jules is doing great despite the news. She is taking care of her children and working hard on her brand, Modern Alkeme. She is a survivor and has many people around her for support."

Jules, 35, and Michael, an investment banker, have been married for eight years and share two children together: son Jagger, 8, and daughter Rio, 5.
