Catching Up With the 'Real Housewives of Melbourne'
EOnline.com:
The Real Housewives of Melbourne is just the gift that keeps on giving. The international import (from Australia, naturally), is now in its third season on Bravo and man, it's just so absurd. It's almost unreal. And that is said with all due compliments.
Haven't been watching the (mis)adventures of your queens from Down Under—Gina Liano, Chyka Keebaugh, Gamble Breaux, Jackie Gillies, Janet Roach, Lydia Schiavello, Pettifleur Berenger and Susie McClean—it's OK. There's still time to rectify that. This is what you've been missing. Please keep in mind these stories are not made up. Or are they?
No, they're not made up. They are 100 percent scenes that happened in the show.
The Feet Bronzing
Gina bronzed her feet before going into a wildlife area in Dubai where she and some other women interacted with a sea lion. Why did she bronze her feet? Because the women were told they weren't allowed to wear shoes in. Gina is a woman who is ALWAYS in heels. She even wears heels on the beach—see Gamble's wedding for further proof. So yes, she put makeup on her feet before going to greet a sea lion.
While at Gamble's wedding venue, Gina went up to her room to watch herself on the premiere of Celebrity Apprentice and have birthday cake with her family. The other ladies stirred the pot, saying Gina hosted a party and was pulling guests away from Gamble's gathering. Gamble played right into their hands. But, soapbox time, wouldn't you want to watch yourself in your new show? Of course. It wasn't the actual wedding day or night. She attended Gamble's event. Let Gina live.
The Driver
One of Lydia's main storylines this year involved her housekeeper, Johanna, driving her around. Poor Johanna. Did she get an appearance fee this year? Hopefully a "friend of the Housewives" rate? Lydia trotted her out everywhere and the scenes where Lydia made Johanna drive her around were just…uncomfortable.
The Dog Portrait
Speaking of Lydia and absurd things, she also had a giant portrait painted of her beloved dog, the Greyhound Figaro. Pettifleur, the woman with two huge paintings of herself adorning her walls, thought this was absurd. Take that statement in. And that brings us to Pettifleur…
The Beach Tears
Pettifleur, Pettifleur, Pettifleur. Just…what is there to say? This is something that actually happened: All of the women just arrived in Dubai and were chilling poolside. Lydia and Pettifleur joined them after many were already settled in. The women greeted them and complimented Lydia on her dress.
In a confessional, Pettifleur pointed out that she had also arrived in a shear skirt showing half of her butt. "Give me some attention here," she said in her confessional. While with the other women, she leaned in and whispered this to Lydia: "Nothing against you, but just then no one made eye contact with me. It was all like hello hello hello to you. It was like I didn't even exit. F—king hurts. It really does. I'm pretty upset." She then proceeded to cry. Or attempt to cry so the ladies noticed her. "The whole attention was just like, ‘Hi…,'" she said. The other ladies apologized, but then in their confessionals were pretty much like, "Come on. This is absurd." Yes, Pettifleur cried because nobody was giving her attention. What a world… (You can view the madness for yourself here.)
Pettifleur also got upset over the following: Self-proclaimed psychic Jackie wouldn't "read" her to find where her son's missing birth certificate was, Jackie told her to butt out of her conversation with Lydia that was about their friendship and had nothing to do with Pettifleur, and her son not inviting her out on his date with his girlfriend after she bought him an extravagantly priced piano.

Lydia Schiavello Gets Emotional About Dog Figaro
2Paragraphs.com:
On The Real Housewives of Melbourne episode 'Portrait of Figaro', Lydia Schiavello hires a painter to come to her house and capture the essence of her dog Figaro on canvas. Lydia says, "It’s probably one of the cutest things I’ve done in a long, long time.” When the artist reveals the portrait to Lydia she couldn’t be happier. “Oh my god, that’s amazing,” she shrieks. And then she gets emotional about it.RELATED: Checking in on The Real Housewives of Melbourne: Yes, These Are Real Stories From the Show
When Lydia calms down a bit she tells the artist, “The definition in the whites, is really quite remarkable.” When Lydia's friend Pettifleur Berenger comes over she tells Lydia, “You have way too much disposable income, girl.” About the portrait, Pettifleur says “that dog looks petrified. It looks like it's been beaten all its life but we know it's not." Real Housewives of Melbourne airs Fridays at 9pm on Bravo.

Psychic Jackie Gillies Makes $756/Hour
2paragraphs.com:
Real Housewives of Melbourne star Jackie Gillies is a professional psychic. She’s been predicting the future of others and herself for years now. In fact, she tells the story of how last year, while watching one of the American Real Housewives shows, she turned to her husband (rock star Ben Gillies) and said, “I’m going to be on a show like this” and voilà .RELATED: Real Housewives of Melbourne Reunion Part 2 Recap
Jackie makes serious dough as a psychic medium. She charges AU$495 or US$378 for a 30-minute session -- but that doesn’t keep the ladies on the reality show (hello, Gamble Breaux) from criticizing Jackie's psychic abilities. Of course at that rate, Jackie doesn’t “give a shit what people think.” Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Melbourne reunion will air May 28 at 9pm on Bravo.

Pettifleur Berenger To Be Slapped with Cease and Desist Letter by Reality Star Omarosa Manigault Over Very Similarly Titled Book
TMZ.com:
O.G. 'Apprentice' bitch Omarosa Manigault isn't about to let some ‘Real Housewife' from Down Under rip-off her self-help book -- and now she's taking legal action to block the "bitch."
The ‘Apprentice’ vet served Pettifleur Berenger -- one of the "Real Housewives of Melbourne" -- with a cease-and-desist for her recent self-help book, "Switch the Bitch: My Formula to Being the Champion of Your Life, Not the Victim."
Sound familiar? Omarosa dropped her own motivational tome, "The Bitch Switch: Knowing How To Turn It On and Off" ... back in October of 2008.
Gotta say ... Omarosa and her lawyer, Bradford M. Cohen, fired off a pretty entertaining letter. They demand a full accounting of Berenger’s book sales … which they say “should not take long” -- since it's an "absolute bore to read."
Lastly, if Berenger doesn't pull her "literary classic" off shelves immediately ... Omarosa says she will file a lawsuit seeking $150k for each violation of her copyright.
Bitches, please.

Gina Liano Claims Cyber Stalker Is Destroying her reputation
HeraldSun.com:
REALITY TV star Gina Liano has prompted a police investigation after claiming a cyber stalker is hellbent on destroying her professional reputation.RELATED: Real Housewives of Melbourne Week 8 Recap
The Real Housewives of Melbourne star said she became aware this week that someone had been posing as her online, creating three fake Google Plus pages to abuse fans and post comments that could damage her career.
The barrister and Cancer Council ambassador said the fake Gina had also made disparaging remarks about “taking down Eddie McGuire”, whom she had been working with on a Foxtel pilot series, tentatively called Judge Gina.
Ms Liano believes an old acquaintance with a history of violence and mental illness wants to “bring her down” because she is jealous of her new TV role.
She said the person appeared to be a staunch supporter of Andrea Moss — Ms Liano’s former co-star, whom she was famously embroiled in a bitter feud with last year — and may be acting out of misplaced loyalty to her.
Ms Liano said it seemed the stalker was trying to destroy her reputation so she was no longer a viable candidate to front Judge Gina, a series similar to the US show Judge Judy, in which Ms Liano would mediate real-life disputes.

"Real Housewives of Melbourne" Comes To Bravo
Well, they're official now:
The Real Housewives of Melbourne 2014 heads to BravoTV today, and future Sundays. No, the show is not airing in primetime on BravoTV. And by all accounts, it could best be left for the middle of the night. It’s that bad. The poorly adapted Australian version of the American franchise features a cast in what appears to be almost a parody of Real Housewives than an actual series. The show, however, is not a first run telecast. It previously aired overseas in February.RELATED: Real Housewives of Melbourne leave US viewers bemused
Real Housewives of Melbourne 2014 is like Ladies of London heads to the 99 cent store. It’s like Sharnkado with botox. The women appear to almost reenact BravoTV infamous scenes. Initially filming airing Sunday featured the cast partaking in the same sort of scenes that most often dominate the U.S. version. They shop, they throw parties with young male bartenders, they greet their guests with wine, they predict each other’s demise, and they backstab, “throw under the bus”, “come for” each other, and do everything that franchise show would deliver. And with that, they ask “where can we go from here”?
The cast features Andrea Moss, Gina Liano, Lydia Schiavello, Janet Roach, Jackie Gillies, and Chyka Keebaugh. BravoTV is correct; the show does feature ” glamorous …parties to weekend getaways at exclusive resorts”. But beyond that, the cast and scenes look like members are trying to parody or mimic their American counterparts.
As BravoTV explains, execs did not oversee production on this one. And no, Andy Cohen was not involved in producing a #LegGate, #Ramonavention or similar for this show. Rather Bravo acquired rights to the show. “Bravo is thrilled to announce the acquisition of The Real Housewives of Melbourne, set to premiere August 3 at 12p ET/PT.” It remains unclear if BravoTV paid more than a case of Ramona Singer Pinot Grigio for the license rights. But apparently, the show has been renewed in Australia for a second season.

We think it's very sweet that Lisa is helping Gina to get through a tough time. This isn't the first time Lisa has offered her support to a Real Housewives star from a different show. Recently, she offered tips for succeeding on Dancing With the Stars to Real Housewives of Atlanta's NeNe Leakes.
