Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin were the best of friends…until season three of The Real Housewives of New York City. Their infamous falling out was chronicled throughout that year and made for some pretty riveting TV—"Hiiiiiii! Surprise!" Now, almost five years later Bethenny is opening up about the big divide in an interview with Andy Cohen to celebrate The Real Housewives of New York City's 100th episode.RELATED: Jill Zarin Reveals the One Housewives Star Whose Dinner Party She Wants to Attend
"I remember there was a turning point and I was hosting the Today show," Bethenny explained. "When I got there, the first thing that was told to me by the producers was Jill called her and she lost her mind. ‘Why not me? I'm better than her.'"
Bethenny said she'd get invited to do other shows out in Los Angeles and Jill would ask why Bethenny wasn't bringing her and that they'd be better together. "Listen, I'm not in a girl band," Bethenny told Andy.
Then cameras went up on the show and the infamous "we're done" phone call took place. "It was like, 'Whoa, this is one cunning bitch,'" Bethenny said. "She's waiting to be on camera to come at me with things and make America hate me. It was really clear that she wanted people to hate me."
But that kind of backfired. Bethenny left the show after the third season—Jill left after season four—and Bethenny went on to have her own spinoff, a talk show, huge success with Skinnygirl and eventually return to RHONY.
The two supposedly made nice at the season three reunion, but judging from the above clip…yeah.
"It must be very difficult for her that she can say she's responsible for putting me on the show and people say I'm the most successful Housewife in history and she would've been on the ride with me," Bethenny said. "You know, pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered and that's how it goes."
Damn.
