Bethenny Frankel's SkinnyGirl Products Now Subject of Class Action Lawsuit

More money, more problems:
The company who owns the line of cocktails have been sued in federal court

Bethenny Frankel was on defense mode when Whole Foods had revealed that they were taking the former Real Housewives of New York star’s Skinny Girl products off their shelves because they claimed the ingredients were not all natural as Frankel has touted.

But Whole Foods aren’t the only ones who have a problem with the line of cocktails. A class action lawsuit has now been launched against the company that bought the brand from Frankel, Beam Global Spirits.

TMZ reports that Reneta Bonar filed a lawsuit in California’s federal court, claiming the company made "deceptive statements" on the cocktail’s label.

Bonar wants the company to "engage in a corrective advertising campaign" and of course, pay her some money.

Beam has responded to the lawsuit by releasing the following statement: "In today's litigious society, nothing is surprising. The litigation filed in relation to the labeling of Skinnygirl Margarita is frivolous. We will defend our case vigorously, and we are fully confident we will prevail."

After the Whole Foods debacle, Frankel took to her company website to defend her product. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the Bethenny Ever After star wrote: “I built my brand on trust and honesty. I don’t take lightly obvious attempts to put my integrity in question. I will always answer your questions and concerns directly and truthfully.”
