Phaedra Parks may need to harness her powers of persuasion in her career as an attorney, but when it comes to telling her kids about their father’s prison sentence, she seems to be at a loss for words.
On Sunday’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra consults a pal about how to tell her children that Apollo will be spending the next eight years in prison.
Phaedra explains that, in the time leading up to his incarceration, Apollo’s behavior toward her and their children has become “very threatening and angry,” causing her to fear for her safety and the safety of her kids.
"Because I haven't made a decision on whether or the children will visit with Apollo, it's making him act very erratic and angry, but at the end of the day, I don't care how much Apollo kicks and screams or goes to the club — I will do what's best for these children,” says Phaedra.
While Phaedra has always made it clear that she’s less-than-enthused about the idea of visiting Apollo in prison, she clarifies that it’s not just her anger toward her estranged husband that’s informing her decision.
"It's always been my desire to raise strong black men and I don't ever want them to think that going to jail is acceptable,” says Phaedra.RELATED: Phaedra Parks Is Now a Relationship Counselor?
