LuAnn de Lesseps Promises Plenty of Drama on the Upcoming Season of RHONY

People.com:
It seems there is trouble in paradise ... we mean New York City.

According to Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, star of The Real Housewives of New York City, there will be plenty of drama on the upcoming season, which is currently filming.

It all starts with the return of Bethenny Frankel. While de Lesseps and Frankel get along well, she can't say the same for the rest of the cast.

"I didn't know what it was gonna be like, I thought it was going to be awkward but it's actually turned out to be good. We get along really well so it's like old times ... it's kind of like the good old days of the Housewives," the former model told PEOPLE at the launch of EVINE Live in N.Y.C. on Friday night.

As for the other castmates? "Nooo, never!" the Countess says. While she can't share who Frankel is butting heads with, she does say that viewers will be surprised by whom Frankel doesn't get along with. Maybe it's the blunt Heather Thomson or silent but deadly Kristen Taekman?

Or maybe it's the new cast member.

"We're eight now, we've added a new Housewife," the Countess tells PEOPLE. "I must say, she is doing great because we all know her. It's not like someone who you don't know who just comes in and you are like, who is this person? She has the same lifestyle, so I think she'll be a good addition."

De Lesseps does confirm with PEOPLE that she is pretty much "fully back" on the show, after being only a part-time cast member last season.

"Those tag lines were so bad last season, I am glad I wasn't in that," she says. The "Money Can't Buy You Class" singer is referring to lines that the Housewives say during the Bravo show's opening credits like Taekman's, "I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'm pretty!"

The group just returned from the Housewives trip that they take every season. While De Lesseps wouldn't share where they went, she did promise plenty of drama.

"We just came from the Housewives trip. That was pretty crazy," she tells PEOPLE. "We always say to each other when we start the season, 'What are we gonna come up with this time around?' We don't make this stuff up. It all stems from what is really going on with us so I was thinking, 'What kind of drama is there really gonna be?' Because God knows, the show doesn't work without some drama. And you know, it just happens,."

As for new drama, don't count on the usual tiffs between the de Lesseps and longtime cast member Ramona Singer.

"You are going to see a different dynamic between Ramona and myself, it's changed for the good," she said.
