Does Bethenny Frankel have something to hide? RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that The Real Housewives of New York City star has asked a federal judge to keep secret a collection of e-mails filed as evidence in the lawsuit against her liquor brand — because they would reveal her confidential public relations strategy.RELATED: Bethenny Frankel Takes Time Off From Business To Celebrate Ramona Singer
An Illinois woman is suing the former Real Housewives of New York City star, claiming Frankel’s Skinnygirl Margarita was not all-natural as advertised, because it allegedly contained food preservatives.
The class action lawsuit suffered a major setback when a federal judge ruled last month that there was no way to determine who bought the products and how much they paid for the liquor, but the plaintiffs recently filed new documents — which included the e-mails Frankel wants the court to seal from public view — to convince the judge to change his mind.
“A small collection of email communications and documents attached to those emails” are “confidential business strategy communications” that include “discussions of public relations strategy with Bethenny Frankel, draft public relations statements, and discussions of possible alternative product formulations and ingredients,” Frankel’s new court filing, obtained by Radar, says.
Frankel also wants the judge to seal the transcript of a deposition she gave in a related case, the filing says.
The judge has not ruled on Frankel’s request.
