The 1973 contemporary house, designed and landscaped with a tropical Balinese resort vibe, had been remodelled.
The four-bedroom, five-bathroom property sits on more than a quarter of an acre and features a swimming pool, spa and barbecue area with fire pit.
The house, which the couple bought in 2004 for $1.935 million, has 4,200 square feet of living space.
Richards, who is married to real estate agent Mauricio Umansky, began her acting career with appearances on Little House on the Prairie.
