If there was anyone who proved that she didn't need to be on 'RHONY' it was Carole Radziwill. Long before RHONY existed Radziwill long had her own share of fame, wealth, rich friends, book deals, etc. so who could blame her for never wanton to start or take part in any of the usual drama (except for maybe Luann) this season? But being a little full of yourself is one thing, being totally insensitive is another. Can we say elitist?
Nearly 30 people, and rising, have been declared dead. New York, New Jersey and other East Coast states are in a state of emergency after devastation has been wreaked. Millions are without power and more than 80 homes in Queens, New York burned to the ground at the hands of Superstorm Sandy.RELATED: Carole Radziwill on 'Real Housewives' season, finale
But as of early Tuesday afternoon Carole Radziwill of The Real Housewives Of New York City had not removed her controversial and insensitive tweet about the natural disaster.
Late on Monday night, as millions braced themselves for floods and possible evacuation, she tweeted: "Maybe I’m strange but can’t think of another place I’d rather be 2nite than NYC. Flood of 2012. Love eye of storms. History. #stormsandy."
Radziwill’s tweet is in complete contrast to her castmates, most of whom posted in the immediate aftermath, concerned that New Yorkers were safe and sound.
Heather Thomson was especially vocal despite having a predictive text mishap. On Tuesday morning she wrote : "Lots of heros [sic] out there line men and first responders heroic rescues as traffic result of Sandy :(" Thomson later pointed out that she meant to say "tragic result."
On Monday night Ramona Singer tweeted: "Omg over 14,000 without power in NY already. Time to get those candles, games and books out!"
LuAnn de Lesseps told her Twitter followers: "Hope everyone is safe. We made it through with power down but no damage. "Others weren’t so lucky. Sending love and good thoughts xo."
Meanwhile, across the state line The Real Housewives Of New Jersey were also tweeting about Sandy.
Kathy Wakile told her followers on Tuesday that her husband Richard and her sister Rosie were "together looking for generators."
She added: "Why does my mind think of #MadMax. Who knows what they’ll come home with!!"
I think when Carole wrote the tweet it was before anyone realized the devastation that Sandy caused.
ReplyDeleteLighten up, Cling-on. She's a former news producer. Most REAL journalists and even those on the periphery of ACTUAL news reporting hunger to be in the proverbial eye of the storm, in the midst of the story, amid the rough-and-tumble of war.
ReplyDeleteFirst, how easy it must be to come by my blog and diss me without using a nametag. Second, considering how many times I've been published and paid for my work I'd say that's the makings of a REAL journalist. Third, with the massive amount of warnings we got about Sandy and the huge damage it was gonna cause, I'd say Carole's tweet was insensitive and judging from the reports out there I'm not the only one who felt that way.
DeleteI completely agree with you. People that reach a certain notability can at times become so detached and numb in relating to everyday people that are living out real life tradgeies. No one is above what happened in NJ we all need to wakeup and realize that we are all venerable to disasters, where ever we live......
DeleteThis woman is heartless and soulless...
ReplyDeleteMaybe if it's excitment she likes so much, she should have been on the Plane her friends went down to the bottom of the Atlantic.....How much did you sell your soul for.
I actually really liked Carole at first! I still do, but she is a tad self absorbed, everything is about her and her success..she paints herself as not caring about the drama and being a princess that's laid back and not about the labels, the fame, and ect. The two things she said At te reunion really bothered me, when Andy asked her how it was to be sitting on the couch she said,"surprised" she Acts as if she's better than the housewives (ie, when Luanne wanted to borrow a dress from Rangana) ok, Michelle Obama wears the dresses sooooo?? Why can't Luanne..I thought to Carole ,"everyone's equal" she's kind of a hypocrite..the role she plays herself out to be, I feel really isn't her..she says she doesn't like to say she's a princess, but in the next breathe she does, and she talks about her Kennedy connections..idk it's all weird to me! Be yourself Carole, don't pretend to be all cool and laid back and hippie-ish and then let out your pampas side in the next breath.
ReplyDeleteCarole has a problem with Luanne, she feels Luanne is a wannabe and beneath her. And does not want her knowing her friends in a personal way which showed Carole to be a little bit insecure, controlling and jealous. When really she has no reason to be that's just the way she came across on tv. Carole is a very accomplished person who should be very fulfilled with her success.
