According to Washington Post reporter Lisa de Moraes, the mediocre ratings for the RHODC premiere may have been due to the dreaded tv ratings August doldrums. Ratings doldrums which haven’t affected the ratings of Real Housewives of New Jersey which airs on Monday nights. While the second episode of RHODC lost 200,000 viewers, dropping to 1.397 million, RHONJ had 3.8 million viewers, up an additional 400,000 viewers from the prior episode.
The second episode of Real Housewives of DC included the scene where Michaele and Tareq Salahi arrived at a birthday part held at a District nightclub–Michaelle was hosting the party–in a white stretch limo escorted by a DC Police car with flashing lights and a siren. The Washington Post investigated the DC police car escort-Note to Bravo: When you film a housewives franchise in DC, WAPO is going to factcheck your reality tv a**. The Washington Post reported the DC police “aren’t supposed to escort ordinary civilians to parties, reality TV shows”. The Post contacted the DC Metro Police who stated the incident was under investigation.
