'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Ratings Continue To Plummet, Lowest Viewership Ever!

RadarOnline.com:
Hot on the trail of their lowest season premiere episode ever, ratings for the Real Housewives of New Jersey continue to plummet as the ladies brought in their lowest viewership ever for a single episode last Sunday, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Season 6 — featuring fan favorites Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga and Dina Manzo and newbies Teresa Aprea, Nicole Napolitano and Amber Marchese — debuted on July 13 only bringing in 2.1 million viewers in the key 18-49 demographic, and slipped a whopping 500,000 viewers the next week.

Titled O, Christmas Tre, the season’s second episode aired on July 20 and only brought in 1.6 million viewers, the New Jersey franchise’s lowest ratings ever.

The low ratings come just one day after Radar exclusively reported that Bravo nixed Giudice, 42, from Sunday night’s appearance on Andy Cohen‘s Watch What Happens Live and replaced with Kathy Wakile and her sister Rosie Pierri.

“Teresa was notified by Bravo on Friday that her appearance on Sunday’s show was being canceled,” a Bravo insider told Radar

“No official reason was given, but the network has been upset with Teresa for not doing as many promotional appearances for The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”

Giudice is reportedly on the chopping block with Bravo, with network execs questioning whether she’s worth her $700,000 salary.

In fact, she’s being largely blamed for the show’s failed ratings.

“Bravo bosses are starting to think that Teresa just isn’t worth keeping around if her diva behavior continues.

The network is very sensitive to the fact that she is facing a looming prison sentence, and has tried to work with her during this difficult time,” an insider told Radar.

“Teresa should start treating the producers and network executives with dignity and respect. They don’t have the time nor patience to deal with her temper tantrums. Teresa should recognize her only source of income is from the show.”

  1. I think people are getting tired of all the women creating stupid drama and victimizing themselves. Aviva pounding her prosthetic leg on the table was disgusting. What was her point? Or Theresa insinuating she hasn't been able to save money for her daughters for college because she has to pay lawyers while a celine bag is behind her on the counter...or Heather give a speech about how she supports resue dogs because she's the most bad ass around, just so she doesn't look bad. Enough already. We want to see women have fun and empower each other, not chicken head Ramona saying, did I ask you to get me wet?

  2. I was on the fence about watching NJ this because of how messy the seasons past had become. The characters were serious assholes and it was apparent the producers were manipulating at every turn. I'm interested in Teresas story now, and I'm interested in how her family and friends deal with it too. It's the most real thing that's happened on this franchise. This article is dumb. I'm pretty sure Bravo didn't cancel Teresa at the last moment because they are spiteful, petty, bitches. I'm sure there was a legitimate reason. Also, i hardly think RHOHJ is Teresas only source of income. Her cookbooks are really popular. If people aren't tuning in its because they are afraid they are going to see that same mess we've been watching for the past 3 seasons.

    1. There's obviously still a market out there for this franchise if the people that are saying "to put the housewives out of it's collective misery" are still cruising housewives blogs.

    2. It's an ever-diminishing market. That is the point of the article.

  3. There all the same at this point, just a gaggle of squacking hens. They all look, sound and act the same, just insert the name of the city or state and there you go. Time for Bravo to put the housewives franchise out of its collective misery.

  4. I saw the first couple of episodes and I'm actually into it. The camaraderie doesnt seem as forced anymore. The twins are funny, Amber's obviously gonna stir the pot, I'm interested to see who Dina dates and I always liked Joe and Melissa. As for Teresa and Joe, it's interesting to see how they deal with life while the possibility of prison hovers over their heads.

    1. Hopefully they keep it fun, no mean girl crap, but really how much do you think they will show joe and Theresa's situation, she hasn't been very forthcoming in the past, and I'm sure she won't say much as to not incriminate herself or her husband.
