Bravo viewers are not in a New York state of mind. Though the series’ stars have plenty of drama in their personal lives - cheating scandals, bankruptcies, wine throwing and cougars – all of that excitement has happened off-screen. As a result, viewers have been tuning out in increasing numbers since the first episode, which brought in a measly 1.33 million viewers — the lowest number since the show debuted.
Now, “Bravo executives are watching the numbers closely and they are definitely considering getting rid of the New York franchise,” a source close to the production told Radar.
The ratings have continued to bomb during the season, hitting a series low of 1.2 million viewers for the fifth episode. And while they climbed in the last two weeks, the core audience that advertisers look for has fallen off drastically.
This week’s 1.46 ratings are up but there was a “64,000 viewer decrease (-8.39%) in the more important 18 to 49 year old demographic,” according to BravoRatings.com.
As the Aviva Drescher/ Carol Radziwill “Bookgate” feud fell flat and Ramona Singer’s marital problems didn’t make the cut, the show is still struggling to draw in viewers and that doesn’t bode well for the well-heeled Manhattan ladies.
“The ladies just aren’t connecting with viewers and they need something major to happen to them,” the source told Radar.
I hope they do cancel. This is by far the most boring and unattractive cast ever.
ReplyDeleteBravo takes the the majority of their viewership for granted. They only cater to the minority that enjoys watching self-absorbed , hateful idiots turn on each other. Bravo is the bottom feeder of networks.
ReplyDeleteA good barometer for the health of the housewives franchise. People are tired of them all. Within a couple of years, ALL the shows will be cancelled. The writing is on the wall and Bravo knows it.
ReplyDeleteThey RHONY come across as spoiled. You can't relate to them. They aren't real. It seems all the housewives do is fight. Every franchise. You think being rich would afford you some fun and peace but no Bravo makes them fight. Gag.

I can't watch her put everyone down she talks in circles...honestly she needs to humble herself I don't know how she has any friends at all.. her whinning nagging voice made me stop watching it......she's terrible to think she is above everyone else..
ReplyDeleteThis is the best season yet! I love Heather and the new girl Kristen. Even Carol is ok now. But that crazy,self absorbed,judgemental bitch Ramona and screwball Sonja have got to go. They have worn out my last reserve nerve!!!
