Phaedra Parks' Husband Apollo Nida Pleads Guilty in Fraud Case

USAToday.com:
The husband of a Real Housewives of Atlanta star pled guilty to mail, wire and bank fraud charges on Tuesday.

Federal prosecutors accused Apollo Nida, husband of Phaedra Parks, of participating in a four-year scheme that cost more than 50 victims $2.3 million.

Nida, 35, and other conspirators are accused of obtaining stolen checks by stealing them or buying them, according to a press release by U.S. Attorney Sally Yates. Stolen checks included U.S. Treasury Checks and checks stolen from Delta Airline pension funds, according to Yates.

Nida and others are also accused of obtaining funds by filing fraudulent tax returns as well as making fraudulent claims against the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 11 states using names of victims who had their identities stolen.

Prosecutors say Nida and others also obtained fraudulent auto loans secured by vehicles they didn't have ownership or interest in. They allegedly created fake documents and websites that appeared to be from legitimate auto dealerships to get those loans.

Nida's computer was seized by Secret Service agents back in September 2013. He was arrested in January.
