Caroline Manzo, Kathy Wakile and Jacqueline Laurita Talk 'RHONJ' Departures

Examiner.com:
The official sneak peek of season six of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" was released on Wednesday, May 14, and it likely upset fans of Caroline Manzo, Jacqueline Laurita and Kathy Wakile. That's because the trailer and press release confirmed that Caroline and Jacqueline have left the show while Kathy has been demoted to a recurring role rather than returning as a starring housewife. After the announcement, all three women spoke out about the new season and their new futures.

Caroline, who besides Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline had been the only cast member to be on the show since season one, confirmed that she quit the show. She tweeted that she decided to leave the show but that viewers can still see her on Bravo when her spin-off, "Manzo'd With Children," premieres in the fall.

Caroline's sister-in-law Jacqueline also confirmed that she left the show of her own accord. She tweeted that she wasn't fired but was "burnt out from drama that didn't interest [her]." She also wrote that she has a part-time role in a show that's more upbeat. She confirmed that the show that she'll be appearing in is Caroline's spin-off. Compared to the drama of the "Real Housewives" show, Jacqueline wrote that Caroline's show is "fun" and "hilarious."

While Kathy, as well as her sister Rosie Pierri, will still be seen in season six of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," she won't be a starring housewife, which means that she won't appear in the opening credits or have much of her own storyline. Like other women who have been friends of the housewives, she'll most likely appear in group functions and perhaps do a few talking head interviews.

Kathy released a statement to E! News on her new role. She pretty much admitted that her contract as a starring housewife wasn't renewed but spun it in positive terms. She said that she has "now agreed to terms that give [her] the opportunity to film the show in a way which better suits [her] lifestyle." She said that her new role as a friend of the housewives has allowed her to get to know the new housewives, Amber Marchese, Nicole Mauriello and Teresa Aprea, while also giving her the time to focus on her expanding dessert empire.
