USmagazine.com:
Joe and Teresa Giudice's legal problems have been put on hold amid family tragedy. Following news of the death of Joe's father, Frank, the couple's July sentencing date has been postponed, Teresa's lawyer, Henry Klingeman, tells Us Weekly.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars were supposed to appear before a judge in Newark on July 8, but will now be allowed to take the time to grieve Frank's death. "Sentencing has been officially rescheduled to September 23," Klingeman tells Us. "The family is mourning Mr. Giudice," he adds.
When the twosome do appear in court, they'll be sentenced on several counts of bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, and failing to pay taxes. They pleaded guilty to the charges back in March.
"Today, I took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago," Teresa said in a statement to Us at the time. "I have said throughout that I respect the legal process and thus I intend to address the court directly at sentencing. I will describe the choices I made, continue to take responsibility for my decisions, and express my remorse to Judge Salas and the public."
For now, though, both she and Joe are focused on their family. As previously reported, Frank Giudice passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 18, at age 63.
