LuAnn De Lesseps and Jill Zarin to Compete for US Open Spot

Zap2It.com:
"The Real Housewives of New York City" are women of many talents: They cook, they plan extravagant parties, they run successful businesses -- but who knew two of them were tennis stars?

Current sixth season "Housewife" Countess LuAnn De Lesseps and former "Housewife" Jill Zarin will be playing for a spot in Tennis' US Open competition June 9.

Lesseps will play mixed doubles with Elliott Pettit, a teaching pro at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. While Zarin will play mixed doubles with Kyle Owens, a teaching pro at the Murphy Jensen Tennis Academy in Sea Island, GA.

The Bravo stars, who will not compete against each other in the first round, aren't the only celebrities to try their hand at the tennis championship. Olympic skier Bode Miller, LMFAO rapper Redfoo and ESPN's Mike Greenberg have also taken a swing at it in previous years.

No doubt the "Housewives" will bring the glamour when they compete in the US Open National Playoffs Eastern Sectional Monday, June 9 at 2 p.m. PT/ET in Flushing, NY.
