Jill Zarin Says The RHONY Cast Is “Miserable and Going Through a Really Hard Time”

Celebuzz.com:
Former Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin claims that some of the remaining cast members on the show are “miserable.”

“I’m in contact with a few of the current girls,” Zarin, age, told Celebuzz Tuesday night at Manhattan’s Dopo Teatro East, where she and family members were getting ready to send her daughter, Ally, back to college.

“I’m not going to name names, but what I will say is that they are miserable and going through a really, really hard time.”

“They hear what other people think of them or say about them and it hurts,” she explained, when Celebuzz asked why the unnamed ladies were miserable. “Sometimes it’s the truth and the truth can hurt too.”

“It’s unnatural for you to know what other people are thinking. We all go through life through rose-colored glasses. Could you imagine if you could actually hear people’s thoughts?”

Last September, Zarin was let go from the popular Bravo series after four seasons, along with Alex McCord, Kelly Bensimon and Cindy Barshop.

The girls were eventually replaced by three new HousewivesAviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson — in time for the show’s fifth season, which premiered to lower ratings in June.

Asked why the show’s ratings — which had fallen 21 percent from last season over the first two episodes — were down, Zarin cited the cast shake-ups as a potential reason.

“I think they changed the formula that worked,” she said. “I don’t know why. I think they changed it too soon. Why would you change the formula of a show when the ratings were up 15 or 20 percent last year? I say, you change the show when the ratings are down, because then there’s only one way to go, hopefully, and that’s up.”

“We’ll see where they go,” she added. “I only wish them the best. I loved doing the show when I did it. But it was a different cast; there were only five of us. It was great. But we’ve all changed from fame, some in a better way than others. But I loved doing it and what it’s brought to me and my family. I think it’s also caused me to pay attention more to staying in shape and taking care of myself.”

In the meantime, Zarin has plenty to look forward to. On her plate: a weekly gig on the new ABC series Good Afternoon America, and an August 22 appearance on HSN to promote her Skweez Couture, which you can tune in to at 1AM, 6AM, 1PM and 3PM.

  1. Jill is so desperate and pathetic. She was fired because she was unbearable and the viewers hated her.
