“Real Housewives of Atlanta’ cast member Porsha Williams has landed a permanent regular gig on another TV show: syndicated pop culture show “Dish Nation.”RELATED: Porsha Williams Boyfriend: 'Real Housewives' Star 'Giggles' & Gets 'Sexy' On Instagram, Kandi Burruss Buys Todd Tucker A Car [VIDEO]
A few weeks ago, she signed on as a temporary fill-in cast member of Rickey Smiley’s portion of “Dish Nation,” which includes Smiley, Gary With Da Tea and HeadKrack. She has now parlayed that into a full-time gig.
Curiously, the regular morning show recently added Claudia Jordan, who replaced Ebony Steele. Jordan will not be part of “Dish Nation,” which is taped after the morning show at Smiley’s studios in downtown Atlanta from around 10 a.m. to noon.
Conversely, Williams will not be on the radio show, which is heard on 60 stations nationwide, including Hot 107.9 in Atlanta.
The TV show airs locally at 7 p.m. on Fox 5 (WAGA-TV). It was recently moved to the better time slot from midnight due to strong ratings.
“She really connected with the cast,” said a “Dish Nation” spokesman. “The chemistry is there.”
While Williams may not be a civil rights historian, she has the ability to be a bubbly presence able to comment about current pop culture events. The press release sent to me called her “talented” and “tenacious.”
Nationwide, the show averages about 1.5 million viewers a night. It features radio morning shows commenting on the entertainment news of the day. The other morning shows represented right now are:
Kidd Kraddick in the Morning, syndicated in over 65 markets and based out of Dallas, Texas, features Kellie Rasberry, Jenna, Big Al Mack and J-Si; Seattle’s Brooke & Jubal in the Morning with Brooke Fox, Jubal Flagg, Jose Bolano and Lydia Cruz; and Los Angeles’ Heidi & Frank, also featuring Erik Scott Smith and Sammi Marino, heard weekdays on KLOS.Williams is taping season seven of “Real Housewives” as well.
