Mynique Smith Rumored To Be Joining Real Housewives of Atlanta
The Real Housewives of Atlanta isn’t well known for recruiting real live ‘housewives’ so this comes as somewhat of a shock to me.

Mynique Smith, wife of former Atlanta Falcons player Chuck Smith, is the unidentified ‘newbie’ who was spotted hanging with the ‘wives’ earlier today.
Season 6 of the popular reality show is currently being taped and the southern ladies took a trip further south, where they were spotted on a tour of Savannah, Georgia.

The gang was all there!

Phaedra Parks, Kenya Moore, Nene Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Porsha Stewart, Kandi Burruss and suspected ‘newbie’ Mynique Smith.

Who is Mynique Smith?  You already know I got the tea…

Mynique Smith is the wife of former Atlanta Falcons player turned sports broadcaster Chuck Smith.
I’ve met Mynique a few times around town and she’s sweet, down to earth and likeable…. all traits that could get her eaten alive on RHOA.

The good thing about Mynique though is her authenticity.  She is a real live ‘football wife’ who is well known in social circles around Atlanta.

Her husband, Chuck played for the Falcons, for eight seasons (1992-1999).  Those of us around Atlanta remember his contributions to the team and he established himself as an All-Pro defensive end that led the Falcons to Super Bowl XXXIII.

I say all that to say, Chuck Smith and Bob Whitfield were/are close friends and coincidentally, Mynique and Sheree Whitfield were forced to be friendly with each other during the years their husbands played on the same team.

Mynique met an up & coming actress by the name of Nene Leakes during that time as well, when Sheree used to invite who she referred to as her ‘hood friend’ to Falcons home games with her.

Get the connection?

From what I’ve ‘heard’ Mynique and Nene have always been cool… she and Sheree? Not so much.  But that’s a moot point anyway since Sheree quit the show after Bravo fired her.
