Alexis Bellino Claims Lydia McLaughlin is a “Wishy-Washy Friend”

Wetpaint.com:
At the beginning of Season 8 of the Real Housewives of Orange County, we were set up to believe that Alexis Bellino and new castmate Lydia McLaughlin were the best of friends.
So, when Heather Dubrow met up with Lydia to discuss being featured in her magazine, we were shocked by Lydia’s comment when the conversation turned toward Alexis.

“We just moved into Dana Point, so our neighbor was your friend Alexis,” Lydia says.

When Heather visibly frowns and asks if they’re still friends, Lydia responds hesitantly. “We’re still friendly. She moved out of the area, so we still talk a little bit.”

It seems like we’re not the only ones who were surprised by Lydia’s reaction. In her Bravo blog following the Season 8 reunion, Alexis says she felt hurt after watching that episode.

“The problem I have is that I felt [Lydia] was my true friend from the beginning, and she doesn’t feel the same. Before Lydia was even on the show, we were hanging out together with our husbands, doing play dates, working out together... AND having long phone conversations about her coming onto the show. To me, we had an authentic friendship.”

Alexis reveals that watching the scene between Lydia and Heather was remarkably hurtful. “To hear [Lydia] say she didn't know me that well once Heather frowned about me, I was crushed. [...]  I felt Heather confirmed my feeling when she told her that she didn't feel Lydia acted as if we had hung out on several occasions.”

While Alexis says she doesn’t want a “wishy-washy friend,” she has tried to put the past behind her. “Lydia and I have discussed it, we have both shared our sides to it, and we have moved on. That's what friends do: discuss and move on.”

  1. Alexis is a great soul who has really taken abuse from these women. Now thankfully it appears she is being treated better. I hope it continues. Gretchen has no friends and its a shame cause Alexis was willing to forgive and forget. Too bad. Gretchen's loss.

  2. I love Alexis because she really is genuine barbie. No really, she wears her heart on her sleeve. Alexis is believable. I think its terrible to pick on a slower socialite learner. I have faith in her growth. Yes, it's a slow growth, but she is growing. I just wish she would read books beside the bible. Possibly learn some culture that is if she wants to hang around socialite culture.
Alexis desires and admires strong women but she just cant connect with socialite culture. she continues to insert foot in mouth.
But I love her. If she would educate herself, there would be no stopping her. more to life then shopping, gym, and kids. Please, please read maybe start with the Art of War..might help fight friend-enemies.
Yes, those women did bully her. Its not in the written definition, that defines bullying. This is a bullies excuse. Its the fact, she felt bullied therefore she was bullied. No one has a right to tell a woman being verbally jumped on, how to feel. Or get over it. That in itself is abuse. I believe Alexis feelings were hurt, that this shattered her for awhile, but faith and courage brought her back this season. We love you Alexis. No one has the right to tell you who you are, you define, you..There is knowledge and lessons in many different books. God dwells in more then one four corner book,,open your eyes, look to creative art you will see God in many books, art. After all God creates all good work. my blessing for Alexis would be knowledge, insight to go with her courage and faith. Unstoppable...

  3. Didn't anybody watch the first two seasons Alexis was on the show? She and Taliban Jimbo are just doing damage control for their atrocious behavior.
