Phaedra Parks’ ‘Vibe’ Defamation Trial Delayed

Wetpaint.com:
It's been over a year since Phaedra Parks of the Real Housewives of Atlanta filed a lawsuit against Vibe Holdings for defamation, but according to Straight From the A, it looks like we're going to have to wait even longer for the final outcome on this case.

Phaedra sought 30 million big ones, stating that the news outlet published false information about her in order to create buzz for Angela Stanton's book, Lies of a Real Housewife. In the book, Angela claims that her and Phaedra use to be partners in crime, literally. But Phaedra says that while she did meet the author, they were neither friends nor associates... and certainly not a Bonnie and Clyde team.

Now the Vibe trial could be delayed as long as another five months due to unforeseen circumstances on both sides of the lawsuit.

For one, Phaedra's key witness, Justin Cody — who, by the way, just happens to be Angela Stanton's baby daddy (try to keep up here, guys) — had to drop off the case just two weeks before they were supposed to go to trial. The reason? He was indicted for Identity Theft Tax Fraud and therefore ended up in jail. Oops.
Angela was of course delighted with the news, tweeting, "WELP!!! There goes her star witness 2 weeks before trial. oh’ the irony of it all…#Favor," and later adding, "Maybe Phaedra can help you…"

As a result, Angela's lawyer quit abruptly, issuing the following statement: "I will no longer represent you in your case in which you are a defendant. I am terminating my attorney-client relationship with you because we have irreconcilable philosophical differences regarding how your case should be handled."

In other words, Angela's lawyer may have been annoyed that his client was ranting about the lawsuit on Twitter?

To make a long story a little bit shorter, the trial is delayed until further notice.
