Joe Giudice To Go On Trial on Forgery Charges in October

NJ.com:
The criminal trial of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" husband Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice on forgery charges has been delayed until the fall, The Record reported.

Passaic County Superior Court Judge Greta Gooden Brown set a new trial date for Oct. 28 earlier this week, the newspaper reported.

Giudice, 43, of Montville was supposed to go on trial July 15, but proceedings were delayed after defense attorney Miles Feinstein of Clifton told the court that an unexpected scheduling change caused a conflict with a homicide trial in Sussex County, The Star-Ledger previously reported.

Giudice, who is married to "Real Housewives" castmember Teresa Giudice, is accused of obtaining a driver's license using marriage and birth certificates that belonged to his brother, Associated Press reported. At the time, Joe Giudice's license was suspended after he crashed his truck in 2010.

Penalties for the charges, which include forgery, are up to 10 years in prison.

As reported by The Star-Ledger, Giudice has maintained his innocence and turned down several plea deals from prosecutors because, Feinstein said, they were offering him substantially more prison time than other alleged offenders.
In the Sussex County case, Feinstein is representing James Yurchak, 49, of Hardyston, who is accused of killing his wife more than five years ago before turning the gun on himself in an apparent suicide attempt.
