Sonja Morgan Claims Bethenny Frankel Thinks ‘Tipsy Girl’ Is An ‘Insult’

RadarOnline.com:
Bethenny Frankel may have taken Sonja Morgan under her wing and given her advise on how to run a business during season 7 of Real Housewives of New York City, but has that mentorship come to an end?

After Morgan branded her new liquor line “Tipsy Girl,” Page Six reported that Frankel’s company took out a trademark on “Tipsygirl” (one word) to try to cause problems for her costar.

While Morgan’s business partner Peter Guimaraes said that Frankel’s move was “underhanded,” he maintained that Morgan’s new line wasn’t meant to compete with Frankel’s $100 million Skinnygirl empire.

RadarOnline.com has since learned that Frankel didn’t view the situation the same way as Morgan and her partner.

“It was surprising at first because she took out a trademark,” Morgan told Radar exclusively at the season 8 premiere party that she and Ramona Singer hosted at Beautique in NYC on March 29. “Tipsygirl, one word, and mine is two words, so I was like, ‘Whoa! What is she doing?'”

Morgan, 52, realized that Frankel, 45, was just playing her cards in the business game.

“Then when I reflected, I thought, ‘Well, it’s a business move,'” she explained.

Unfortunately, Frankel felt like Morgan’s new brand name attacked her own successful venture.

“I think she basically took it personally that I had done a brand with the name ‘girl,'” Morgan said. “So we have yet to see where that’s going to go.”
