Real Housewives of New York City Feud: Team Alex or Team Sonja?

People.com:
There's a new feud in town: On Thursday's episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, Alex McCord and Sonja Morgan launched a new dispute – and it all started at a march for a good cause.

"MEN called, which is the Marriage Equality of New York, and asked me to be the grand marshal. And they said, 'Well, we'll have several speakers, but we want you to kick it off because you're so light and funny,' " Sonja said. "You're such a gay icon.' "

As the women gathered at Sonja's townhouse to get ready for the march, trouble started to brew as Alex (member of the event's host committee) and Sonja (grand marshal) compared their respective official duties.

"So is it Sonja's day or is it Alex's day?" Kelly Bensimon asked.

At one point, when Alex tried to discuss logistics, Sonja interrupted and said, "Not all that. We're talking about me now. We're talking about me being nervous and my girlfriends being here to support me."

"It felt to me that she was trying to take ownership of a day that was about a cause, not about a person," Alex said.
As much as I can appreciate Alex finally finding her voice (esp. when she goes up against Jill), she went too far at Sonja house, especially after Sonja told her to leave. Yeah, Sonja probably did make the event about her, but Alex in her new "voice" needs to remember that timing is about everything and she just comes off as ignorant when she does stuff like go off on somebody in their home. Can I say too how funny it is watching Crazy Kelly being the voice of reason.

  1. Team Alex.

I so badly want to believe this was fake. I can't wrap my head around anyone being as selfish and self absorbed as Sonja was in this episode.

I only know what I saw on the show. For Sonja or anyone to have kept saying dozens of times that a Marriage Equality of New York awareness event was about her, is really horrible. She - the grand marshall - didn't care about the event, and she made that clear. She did not care. That's just too sad for words.

Simon would have been a better Grand Marshall as he was there for the cause, not the spotlight.

To even say you'll only do the event if you're the only one from your group that can speak? Who does something like that? I'm disappointed in MEN for having a grand marshall that didn't care about the cause, that only cared about her own need for attention. I used to like Sonja. But in this episode I saw something truly wrong in her heart, and now I can't un-see it.

Good for Alex, putting all things aside and actually saying please and begging for the best awareness event she could. That lady had the right attitude and the right reasons in her heart. Team Alex.

  2. team SONJA!

Alex has become the bully. All she will get is that the other housewives won't want to film with her.

  3. Team Alex all the way, I used to love Sonja, but seeing the last episode makes me see how self absorbed she is..

What bothers me most is that at her own party, Sonja confrtoned Alex, Sonja started the conversation about the event, then when it was Alex's turn to talk, she accuses her of it "not being the right time" .. I agree, it wasn't the right time, at the party, in front of so many people, but Sonja should not have brought it up, or had a little class instead and acknolwed that there was an issue, but to talk about it later, if she had some class, she would have said to Alex "Alex, I know we have things to talk about, lets get together later to discuss.." then at least the problem is recognized, but a war isn't starting at a party...

  4. How could ANYONE with more than 2 braincells be on team Sonja? I am baffled by this, she was being a total SELFISH and CONTROLLING BITCH! Good morning ,its not ALL ABOUT YOU SONJA! I don't like the way Alex was following her and barking at her but if it were me I would like nothing more than to knock the teeth out of her no lip mouth, then she says that the night is all about her and Brian , actually HE is the artists its HIS night, you threw it in his honor.
She one bitch I cant stand!

  5. They are both out of control. For different reasons. Although, Sonja seems quite entitled and self-centered so far this season. I guess I choose Alex?

  6. Sonja is an aging whore... sold herself for money to an old man, bankrupt now, needs money and attention and self-promotion and shanghied an event like the Marriage March: ME ME ME.
Sonja started talking with Alex at her party and then would not let Alex respond.
Sonja's attitude about Simon is offensive: she seems jealous of Alex having a husband.
Her painter/gigolo can't even stand the old hag.
Sonja is stupid and boring and low-class nouveau riche.
Sonja is behaving worse than Jill and I never thought that anyone could.

  7. I thought I would like Sonja last season, but wow what a bitch this season!!! Alex and Simon were completely right in this issue and were very passionate about the cause, while Sonja was so selfish and disrespectful!! Who does she think she is?? Not only did she disrespect MEN, but no one deserves to be spoken to the way that she spoke to Alex, and how dare she start attacking Simon!! Especially to Alex! Of course that is not going to sit well with her, you don't go after someone's family. That wench is rude and disrespectful and needs someone to shut her down off her pedestal. The way she treated Alex makes me so mad, this is the first time I have ever felt strongly enough to blog about a housewife. Sonja is out of line! Go team Alex!!

  8. Team Alex all the way!!
What the hell happened to Sonja? She seemed like a nice person last season. Wrong!! It's hard to believe what a narcissictic, selfish, slutty snob she is! That lame speech she gave at the march was embarrassing. It showed off her lack of intelligence, that she put no preparation into it, and that she didn't give a shit! It was just a big 'look at me' moment for her.
Look in the mirror biotch, you are not gods gift to men! That artist that painted you is obviously not into you. He's using you!! But you're too into yourself to even notice. Cover up your *** and show some class.

  9. Team Bethenny. I can not relate to any of these women. Sonya - yuck, can someone get my driiiiiver, take her back from whatever hole she claimed out of. Alex - bat shit crazy w/a bisexual husband who is locked inside a closet. Kelly - mentally disabled, nuff said. Ramona - drunk lush that is annoying as hell w/her big eyes and diarrhea mouth. Cindy - I don't get her like she doesn't get it w/any of the housewives. Love LouAnn and Jill. I want Bethenny back, please Bravo- if you want New York housewives to continue beg Bethenny back. PLEASE!!

  11. After watching this season but more especially after watching Reunion Parts 1 and 2 how you can call each other friends is so baffling!!!! With friends like each of you are to each other who needs enemies? My heart goes out to Alex - Cindy, Kelly, Jill and Louann took every opportunity to either talk over her, disrespect her and bully her. If Betheny is as smart as she appears to be she will never let Jill back into her life in any shape, form or fashion. These ladies are toxic and don't have a clue what being a friend truly means. "Money Cant Buy You Class" - they need to remember that when they watch the reunion shows - I'm embarrassed for them and their families. We teach our children not to treat people the way they treat each other - mean girls is an understatement. Alex is the only nice one in the group - she is absolutely out of her element - she needs to lose them from her life - Alex, you're better than the people you are allowing to intrude into your life and disrespect you.
