Mama Joyce has revealed that Todd Tucker held up his wedding to Kandi Burruss over a pre-nup.RELATED: 'RHOA' Kenya Moore and NeNe Leakes miss out on Kandi Burruss's wedding
It doesn’t come as any great shock that Mama Joyce isn’t happy about Todd joining the family. However, she told TooFab.com that her dislike rose to a whole new level just hours before he was supposed to jump the broom with Kandi because he was being stubborn about one of the bride’s matrimonial requirements.
“I got a little pissed at the bridegroom the night before this wedding,” Mama Joyce admitted to TooFab.com. “He kind of held up on signing the prenup and didn’t come to the rehearsal dinner because he didn’t want to sign it.”
According to Mama Joyce, Todd’s mother backed up his resistance to signing a pre-nuptial agreement. “His mom said she didn’t see no reason for him to have to sign because they were in love,” Joyce said, pointing out that Todd eventually agreed to Kandi’s demands. “He was the one who didn’t have a damn thing, but that’s another story. But from what I understand, he did sign.”
On the day of the wedding, Mama Joyce kept her composure and even raised a toast to Kandi and her new husband. Instead of reminding everyone how she really feels about Todd, Joyce said that she focused her speech on the bride.
As Joyce recalled, “I said, ‘She looks very happy. I’m happy that she’s happy. and I hope that she continues to be happy. I hope she’s always as happy as she was last night.’”
Now that the big day is over, Mama Joyce doesn’t have a positive outlook for Kandi’s marriage. “RHOA” viewers know that she’s been warning Kandi about Todd all season, but she’s resigned herself to the reality that they’re now man and wife. “Long as she’s happy, that’s the one that has to be happy. Doesn’t make no difference if I’m happy or not, she’s the one that has to live with him,” said Joyce.
Unfortunately, Mama Joyce is maintaining her position that Todd has managed to fool Kandi into thinking he’s a better man than he may actually be. She’s predicting that her daughter may find this out the hard way in the very near future.
“I did everything I could do. If she’s jumping in the river with sharks, she’s gonna get chewed up,” Joyce warned. “It’s not about me, whether I’m right or wrong. People show you their best when you’re dating them, so if she’s seeing the best now, the worst is yet to come.”
