EOnline.com:
Camille Grammer's attempt to throw a wrench in her divorce proceedings may not land with much impact.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star filed a motion Thursday opposing estranged hubby Kelsey Grammer's request to finalize their divorce ASAP and let them figure out the division of their assets and their child custody issues later.
Well, the pen is mightier than the sword, right?
Not so much, in this case.
Camille probably won't be able to foil Kelsey's plan to take a fourth wife next month, a plan he revealed Thursday on The Late Show With David Letterman, when he encouraged Dave to be "pleased for the new developments" in his life.
Family lawyer Lynn Soodik exclusively tells E! News that Camille will probably not be successful in preventing Kelsey from getting a divorce granted by February. In California, divorces can be finalized six months after the initial filing, meaning Camille's July 1 filing is just a divorce waiting to happen.
"She can make it difficult but she can't prevent it," Soodik said. "They can either agree to do it amicably or they can duke it out in court. She can't stop it but she can get some conditions. He definitely has the money so he can show that she won't be harmed by the granting of the bifurcation."
While Camille's motives might appear to be spiteful, Soodik said, it could just be evidence that the former dancer wants to protect her financial situation after such a long marriage. Since she and Kelsey were married for almost 13 years, Camille is eligible to receive spousal support for life, she added.
