Alex MCord did pretty good on last night’s Real Housewives of New York Reunion show. She stuck up for herself without breaking into hives! The ladies went at each others throats as anticipated and it was drama, drama, and more drama. After filming for NINE whole hours, you can’t blame them for being even cattier than usual.
Alex weighs in on her blog and clears up some of the murkier discussions of the evening. The first issue at hand: Did LuAnne de Lesseps try and spark a Team Jill vs Team Bethenny war? LuAnne said no. Alex said yes.
‘From the beginning of the season, LuAnn and Jill had a ‘team” that they tried to recruit others to join – Jill on the phone Labor Day weekend and LuAnn asked me on camera at Ungaro in September which “team” I was on,” Alex says. “Ramona, Bethenny and I didn’t form a team with Sonja joining later. We didn’t make jackets; it’s not like we’re in the Pink Ladies. We just understood each other.”
I have to admit Alex did do really well on the first part of the reunion show. She really held it together, spoke in complete sentences without tearing up, stood up to Team Jill and eloquently made her points. Jill can insist that Alex and her were never friends all she wants (what? Alex is supposed to lose sleep over that like Jill is now that she's lost Bethenny?), but clearly Alex got the best of her on Monday.
Jill and LuLu really are gonna start distancing from Kelly next season, you watch and see. Not high school they are Middle school. Alex has always shown class, calm in the face of the bullies storm. She has not ever lied on the show, been straight to the point!! Bravo Alex

ReplyDeleteI have written a letter to bravo, you made a comment on your blog that was hurtful and inapproprate. Using the terms, DEAF AND DUMB, I have a sister wh was born deaf and that term should NEVER be used. Thats not good parenting either. You should remove that comment and apologize to the deaf communities.
Anonymous #2--I understand that the statement that Alex made hit a personal note with you but there is such a thing as being too politically correct. If we were all judged by how many non politically correct comments we made then none of us would have jobs and letter writers such as yourself would be very busy. Alex did not use this term in referring to a person that is in reality born without hearing and also mute/dumb--she attributed it to herself and the blog she was writing. To put this in context for others what you are finding so terribly offensive that you would want to hang a person out to dry until they apologize she stated: "This is sort of a blind (deaf and dumb, though hopefully not stupid!) blog as I haven't seen any of the reunion yet except for what’s online in the previews". So I decided to look up the history of this phrase for I believe that Alex is the most educated and sensitive to what she writes that I could not imagine her purposely using this phrase literally as you would like to say she has. The term deaf and dumb is defined as "adj. 1. both deaf and unable to speak; without the sense of hearing or the faculty of speech." Further research shows this term to have been used by Shakespeare and other literary authors. In researching this particular use of the phrase I discovered so many other ways that "dumb" has been used that are not derogatory--suggest you check http://www.dictionary.net/deaf+and+dumb for further insight. I suspect though that you are just using this as a fairly transparent way to denounce Alex and make her a villain. As the housewives say just "own it" and don't try to use your sister's condition be your reason to write to Bravo. If you still don't agree then try reading all of the housewives' blogs and write to Bravo about every inconceivable non politically correct term you feel requires an apology. That should keep you more than busy until the next season.

And Phoebe Prince commited suicide from being bullied. So perhaps you should jump on Kelly Bensimon for the real video she falsely claims bullying she suffered!! That is more accurate than deft dumb and stupid!! PC on all TV programs these days must be keeping bored people really exhausted!!! Bravo Alex for this season!!!
