When former Real Housewives of Atlanta star DeShawn Snow endured a very public, bitter divorce from NBA player Eric Snow last summer, the mom of three didn't eat out of stress -- in fact, she did the very opposite: She dropped 30 pounds!Not to knock her weight loss or anything, but if you ask me judging fron those Before/After pics she looked better with the extra baggage on than without it.
"I felt everything was out of my control," Snow, 37, tells UsMagazine.com exclusively of the time period in which she was prompted to slim down. "I had no control over anything that was happening in my life and the weight and working out was something I could control."
Snow credits her close friend and personal trainer, Trey Crump, with keeping her motivated through her relationship troubles.
"[When] Trey heard [of my divorce], he texted me and was like 'Meet me at the gym at 6 a.m.' He didn't ask me any questions, we just worked out. That was his way of getting me out of bed and then once I started, I just got consistent."
As for her diet, Snow -- who works out two hours a day and says she'd like to lose 10 more pounds -- is sure to eat in moderation.
"I supplement with protein shakes and I try to stay away from carbs," Snow tells Us. "Sometimes I'll have seafood or vegetables. Basically it's portion size, a maintenance thing."
Three years after her stint on Housewives, Snow is ready to impart her body confidence secrets to others through scripted TV dramas and yes, another reality series.
"All of my projects are basically to empower and encourage young women," Snow says. "The hardest thing in life is to believe that things happen for a reason. You can't be a victim, you have to be a victor -- press through it -- and know that success is the best revenge."

ReplyDeleteDeShawn looks GREAT. She is pretty so I think she would look gorgeous at any size.I am happy she is seeing some sunshine after the storm. I was initially surprised to hear about her divorce, because on the show they appeared to be the most stable couple. Anyway, she will be FINE...I bet Eric is paying child support up the a**.lol.

ReplyDeleteWhat piss me off is the fact that he filed...I wonder if she was trying to keep him 12 years is a long time to let go because of a h--...I am praying for her strength
ReplyDelete...she looks great before and after... and anyone who has ever been in the gym..and shed pounds would confirm..you feel alot better on the inside.. and im sure it helped her through the tough times..
ReplyDeleteI love Deshawn Snow. Perhaps they were boring but i admired how they loved one another. She was already pretty and a curvy sista. She looks even prettier now. Damn why do men have to be such fools and think with the wrong thing. I wish her the very best. Her naivity was absolutely delightful. She was so grounded and added some calm in the midst of all the drama. Stay strong....you are a class act.
