Albert Manzo Surrenders Fight With Gov. Chris Christie

TheRepublic.com:
The husband of one of the one of the stars of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" reality show has decided not to fight Gov. Chris Christie.

Albert Manzo resigned from the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission Monday, saying he didn't want to become a distraction.

The governor had suspended Manzo and another board member and threatened to file ethics charges unless they stepped down. The jobs pay $7,500 and include health benefits.

Manzo drew Christie's wrath for maintaining addresses at the Paterson restaurant that he co-owns and the Franklin Lakes mansion featured on the reality show.

A Christie spokesman told The Record newspaper the resignations are part of what's needed to "finally make these powerful, ungoverned authorities accountable to their ratepayers."
