“Just as it started, it will end, and we will be replaced by someone that America thinks is much more interesting to watch,” Cynthia told Now What?! “My only regret would be to walk away from this and not be set for life and not have taken advantage of every single opportunity that I could.”
Cynthia, who was a successful model before reality TV came calling, has since opened up her own modeling agency, released a doll made in her likeness and written a book with hubby Peter Thomas.
Though they struggle to find ways to balance their love life and professional pursuits, the two said having similar goals helps keeps them together. Even when they don’t have as much time as they’d like to be intimate, Peter said that’s because they’re busy trying to realize their dreams.
“There are some men who look for [women] that just they want them to be their wife and stay home and cook and clean. I always wanted a partner that we’re going to set goals together and achieve them together. I never wanted a stay-at-home wife,” who said his parents’ marriage is 57 years strong. “I always wanted someone who we’re going to want the same things and we’re going to work hard to get those things.”
Cynthia said Peter’s vision helps keep her focused and striving for that next level.
“[Peter] pushes me to the point where I know…this is our time,” said Cynthia.
While they’re both proud of their individual accomplishments and working toward joint and separate professional goals, Cynthia said their achievements wouldn’t be as rewarding without one another.
“There’s nothing like that feeling of accomplishment just in terms of being a successful, independent person,” she said. “There’s nothing better than that, but what does it mean to have all those things that you have strived to get and to accomplishment and not have anyone?”
