We all love watching the Real Housewives franchise (otherwise, you wouldn’t be on this show page, right?), but it looks like being a reality TV star isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be — at least thats what some of the Housewives have come to realize.
At the Bravo Upfronts on April 3, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice gave three words of advice about entering the reality TV business:RELATED: Bravo Launching Interactive 'Real Housewives Awards'
“Don’t do it.” Uh, what? The table-flipping Jersey housewife went on to say, “There’s good and bad but if I had to do it all over again, I don’t think I would do it.” Wow.
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore had the same thing to say, and many of her co-stars were in agreement.
“Be careful for what you wish for. It’s not what it always seems,” said Phaedra Parks. And while Kandi Burress said that being on reality TV can be fun, she noted that it’s also “overwhelming.”
As for Atlanta girl Nene Leakes, she told reporters that if there are people out there seeking legitimate Hollywood fame, then they should stay away from the unscripted shows.
“Being with real actors and actresses on the red carpet is so different from reality. I don’t know how to say it in a positive way so I will say that,” she noted.
Even the H’wife mogul himself, Andy Cohen, had this to say:
“I just think if your aspiration is to become a reality star you need to go to school and get a new aspiration,” he said. “The fun thing about everyone here is I don’t think any of them aspired to be a reality star. They wound up for one reason or another in/on a reality TV show.”
Well, you heard it folks. Though we love their sound advice, we can’t help but wonder why they still continue with their respective shows — then again, if we were getting paid the way they are, we wouldn’t wonder at all.
