Taylor Armstrong's Husband Russell Commits Suicide

TMZ.com:
Russell Armstrong, the estranged husband of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Taylor Armstrong, was found dead of an apparent suicide ... sources tell TMZ.

Our sources say Armstrong hanged himself. He was found hanging in his bedroom on Mulholland Drive.

We're told L.A. City Fire Department arrived at his home and pronounced him dead at 8:16 PM Monday. Sources say a roommate found Russell and called 911.

We're told authorities have not found a suicide note.

Taylor filed for divorce last month, after she claimed Russell physically abused her. We're told authorities informed her of Russell's death last night.

He was 47 years old.

UPDATE

8:13 AM: Bravo and the cast of "Real Housewives" were unaware of Russell's death. Kyle Richards was distraught when she saw the TMZ post, and Lisa Vanderpump was speechless.

8:38 AM: Camille Grammer just tweeted, "My sympathy and condolences go out to Taylor and Kennedy. My thoughts and prayers are with them."
Wow, this is shocking. Of course, only Taylor knows what really happened between her and Russell, but what I saw on screen last season always kind of creeped me out. And then since last season ended you hear about the Armstrong's being a therapy, getting a divorce and Russell admitting that he hit Taylor before, etc. I guess this is another example of the flip side to reality TV--there are (usually) no scripts, you're actually dealing with real people with real lives. Plus too, Taylor and Russell had a kid together. Wonder if the new season of RHOBH will be delayed now? Either way, how Bravo moves forward from this will be interesting to watch. Meanwhile, condolences to Taylor Armstrong and her family.

  2. This is what makes me feel so guilty for watching shows like this. Clearly the effect of having their personal lives broadcasted across the nation was to blame. And then to "continue filming tomorrow..." Of course Bravo will continue filming! They're probably thrilled about this because it's going to raise ratings. I actually heard a reporter from TMZ say this event "ups the ante" for the rest of the cast. Up the ante? A man is dead - a human being! So, what? Now the rest of the cast should plot their own family tragedies so Bravo doesn't kick them off for being too boring? Is that what this is about? I hope they're happy with the "Real Housewives" monster they've created, because look at all the blood on the hands of Bravo and families who volunteered themselves for fame and $. I hope it was worth it.

At what point is enough, enough?
