Phaedra Parks Doesn’t Believe Kenya Moore’s Workout DVD Is Outselling Hers

Phaedra Parks is one busy lady these days. Not only is the mom to Ayden, 2, pregnant with her second son, but she’s also a full-time reality star, mortician student, attorney, and wife to hubby Apollo. On top of that, she and Apollo also produce their own line of exercise DVDs, Phine Body: Donkey Booty Extreme.

And, as fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta all know, cast member Kenya Moore also has a new home workout DVD — Booty Boot Camp — that’s in direct competition with Phaedra’s fitness workouts. On the eve of a rumor that Kenya’s video is actually outselling hers, Phaedra opened up to Wetpaint Entertainment about her thoughts on the matter, as well as the latest DVD she plans to add to her collection.

Wetpaint Entertainment: So if someone wants a killer booty, why should they buy your DVDs?
Right now, we have two. The first is a lower body workout that tones and lifts the booty while also shaping the calves. It firms the stomach while giving your tush a nice round look and adds definition to your legs. The second is a complete body workout. We do everything from head to toe.

And Apollo is the trainer in both, right?
Right — he’s a fitness specialist and a nutritionist. This whole thing started because, after I had my first son, everything had flattened and things had just moved around quite a bit. Apollo was really excited about the idea of helping me get my body back. He said, “Let me help you get your butt back to where it used to be.”

So you could say the DVDs are truly a labor of love?
Two labors of love, actually. One labor — 72 hours and then an emergency C-section — and the other about 40 days working out with my husband!

Have you seen Kenya’s video?
No, I have not.

But you’ve heard the rumor she’s outselling you. What do you think of it?
I would find it interesting if it’s true. I’ve been certified on Amazon three times as a best seller, and my collection has been selling steadily since December — they’ve even outsold Jillian Michaels’s DVDs. Kenya’s have just come out on the market, so for her to be outselling me, that would surprise me.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion is happening soon. Do you think this will come up between you and Kenya?
I’m sure. As you well know, I’m a businesswoman. I have several businesses and multiple projects in the works. The only thing Kenya’s got going on right now is this DVD issue with me and then what happened with her and Walter. That’s pretty much all she’s got to talk about, so I’m sure it will come up, yes.

What can we expect from you next?
A prenatal DVD. I’m getting set to shoot it next month.
