LuAnn de Lesseps Sings Duet With Natalie Cole

Why Natalie Cole would lower herself to do a duet with LuAnn is anyone's guess, either that or somebody paid her really, really well:
Reality TV royalty has collided with music royalty — and the explosive effects have been caught on camera!

Real Housewives of New York star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps was joined recently for an impromptu duet by none other than Natalie Cole, and the unlikely duo tackled Nat King Cole’s classic L-O-V-E.

LuAnn had arranged for Natalie to surprise her boyfriend Jacques Azoulay, for their anniversary, and it turns out Jacques wasn’t the only one surprised when Natalie took to the mike with LuAnn!

“It was an out of body experience,” LuAnn gushed. “I still can’t believe I sang with Natalie Cole! Natalie is a doll, so easy to work with, so generous and just a down to earth gal – I love her!”

And it seems that the admiration is mutual -- a source tells RadarOnline.com that Natalie jumped at the chance to appear on Real Housewives and that she is a huge fan of LuAnn’s and that she loved the Countess’ first single Money Can’t Buy You Class.

You can catch the full performance on the season finale of Real Housewives of New York City, Thursday on Bravo 10/9 c.

  1. She must have been paid a fortune, or Andy Cohen knows where the bodies are buried. Could anyone seriously like the Countless' dreadful attempts to stay on pitch as she grunts through a tune of limited range beyond her capabilities?

  2. My first thought was "What in the world do they have on Natalie Cole to make her submit to this?" Then Luann opened her mouth it was even worse than I expected. (gasp) Luann is a terrible singer and it was painful to listen to. Nat must have had cement in her ears to stay beautifully on key amidst the fingernails-on-chalkboard sounds that were coming from the stool next to her.

  3. I ditto the comment above, but, OMG, including the usually formidable Ms Cole….this shockingly abysmal performance made me wince. Along with the level of self delusion, and so, hubris of “The Countess,”

Forget, the embarrassing caricature of her corpulent “music producer” who can not even emulate the slang of industry cool …meaning, OMG he has no Ear at all!

Tried to post a more modest version of this on BRAVO. It was rejected. That I expected otherwise, means I am naïve.

I also added, in same attempted post…..the “Countess,” including in this finale episode, reveals her wrong side of the tracks roots when she says "“ALLS [SIC] I am saying is…..’

No shame in roots of any kind…tho none can be successfully obfuscated…..pathetic thing is she is so moved in the first place.

It seems to me that every cast member here has a single mandate: to aspire to be some vapid, truncated version of “somebody.” This is a real form of poverty.

Not one interesting human among them. Not, that is, since someone shrewd at BRAVO spun off Bethenny Frankel to go solo. She, at least, ,was/is smart witty, dynamic, authentic, and so, INTERESTING.

True I have missed episodes. But one can see the reality easily within any given one.

What these people and their pitiable aspirations and realities are emblematic of in the culture at large, I guess, for me, is the COMPELLING part.
