From all of the love Gina Kirschenheiter has shown her husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, you would hardly know this couple has decided to call it quits. But Gina did file for divorce on April 2, citing irreconcilable differences, and the couple is moving forward with the process.RELATED: Gina Kirschenheiter Shares Why She and Her Husband Are Divorcing, "But We Will Never Be Split"
Gina shared an update on her divorce proceedings during an interview with The Daily Dish in New York City on Monday. "We are going along with the process. We're actually sitting down with our attorneys, like all together, on November 2 to just basically finish up everything," she said. "It's complicated getting divorced, and there's a lot of paperwork. There's all this back-and-forth, so we're just getting a little bit confused in the process, so we just said, 'Let's just sit down and take an entire day to just bang this out,' so that's what we're doing."
Gina and Matt's marriage may be coming to an end, but they will always be a family, along with their three children, Nicholas, Sienna, and Luca. "We're happy. We're still doing the same thing we've been doing. Nothing's really changed for us this whole time. It's OK. It's good. We just did this charity thing together last weekend," Gina said. "I mean, we're still a family, so that's never gonna change. We're just not gonna share a bank account anymore, you know?"
Gina recently posted a photo of herself, Matt, and their three kids at that aforementioned charity event, and this family definitely still looks as united as ever. But Gina told The Daily Dish that they want to and have put in the effort to continue to maintain a good relationship after marriage. "It's work just like being married is. It's odd to me that people think because you're getting divorced, you can no longer be a family or that it's so tragic for everybody or you're ruining your kids' lives," she shared. "And I really just feel like I would like to kind of normalize what is my normal life, which is I'm getting divorced, but I still have love for my family, and Matt will always be part of my family."
