HollywoodLife.com spoke to Taylor Armstrong at Sweet E’s, the mini bake shop, in Beverly Hills Dec. 22, where Taylor’s daughter, Kennedy, and her little girlfriends were decorating holiday cupcakes and cookies. She explained how life has changed since last summer when her late ex-husband Russell Armstrong committed suicide and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season two began airing.
“My daughter Kennedy is doing good, we are both getting stronger every day,” she began, adding that Kennedy is asking for an iPad for Christmas. “We are just taking it one day at a time. We know we are going to make it.”
She explained, “It’s difficult watching the show because we taped it so long ago. But I do get to see other people’s perspectives so I understand them better. But it’s difficult doing reality TV because you experience the drama in your life when you are experiencing it and then when you watch it months later on TV you re-live it.”
Even though she and Russell weren’t allowed into Kyle Richards‘ white party, Taylor and Kyle have put that incident behind them and remain close.
“We are all pretty good about keeping in touch,” Taylor said. “I talk to Kyle the most because we live close to each other and our kids play with each other. I see her a lot. I saw Lisa [Vanderpump] the other night.”
When we asked Taylor about her autobiographical book, which comes out Feb. 7, she explained why she considers it a labor of love. “I want my book to inspire people to talk about [abuse] — to make it a conversation, because if it’s not talked about, there can be no change.”
We wish Taylor and Kennedy the very best this holiday seasons.
